New Zealand's minister for women Julie Anne Genter rode her bicycle to the hospital to give birth on Sunday.
"Beautiful Sunday morning for a bike ride, to the hospital, for an induction to finally have this baby," the Green Party MP posted on Instagram with photos of her and her partner with their bikes.
She said they cycled to Auckland City Hospital because there wasn't enough room in the car for their "support crew", but that the ride also put her in the "best possible mood".
When announcing her pregnancy on Facebook in February, Genter said she and her partner Peter would have to get an "additional seat for the bikes".
Genter, who is also New Zealand's associate transport minister, plans to take three months off from her parliamentary duties, but just six weeks off her ministerial role.
Genter cycled to the hospital for her birth just two months after New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern gave birth to her daughter, Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford.

Genter announced the birth of a healthy baby boy on Tuesday night.
"We’re overjoyed to announce the safe arrival of our son at 18.03 this evening, weighing almost 4.3kg. We waited a very long time for labour to start, but when it did it was short and sharp," she wrote on Instagram.
