With the Oscars night around the corner, we thought it would be helpful to show you how many super-famous celebrities speak German. Also, look at all the Oscar Winners! Is there a correlation? you tell me.

Sandra Bullock has three Oscar noms and one win under her belt, not to mention an entire Wikipedia pages devoted to her various award nominations. You may not know, though, that she lived in Germany for 12 years and speaks the language fluently. Barely any accent at all!

Sarah Chalke's mother is German and she was raised speaking both languages. We were surprised when her character (Dr. Elliot Reed) busted out some German phrases on the show, but now it all makes sense!

Okay, some of these celebs have a dubious connection to Germany, but Diane Kruger is the real deal. She was born Diane Heidkrüger in Algermissen, West Germany. One of her films, Inglorious Basterds, was nominated for eight Academy Awards.

Golden Globe Winner Kim Cattrall lived in Frankfurt, Germany from 1982 to 1989 with her then-husband, Andre J. Lyson. Based on that reason alone, she is out favorite of the Sex and the City Four!

Oh, Leo. Leo's lovely grandparents, Wilhelm and Helene Indenbirken, were German, and they passed on a little bit of their language to their glorious grandson. How can you not love how he says "Spaetzel"? Leo, too, has an entire webpage devoted to his greatness.
