Miraculous Last Minute Recovery For Coma Patient Nearly Pulled Off Life Support

Here's a feel good jaw-dropper just in time for Christmas. Following a horrific car crash, Arizona college student Sam Schmid was labeled brain dead and given no expectation of recovery. Hours away from being pulled off life support and having his organs harvested, Schmid unexpectedly raised two fingers to signal consciousness. Against all odds, he is now expected to make a full recovery.

"It seems like we were being led down a path to plan for the worst and that things were not going to work out," said (Sam's father) John Schmid. "The miracle, to put it bluntly, was that in a matter of seven days, we went from organ donation to rehab. What a roller coaster it was."
