15 Pictures That Perfectly Capture The Love Between Dog And Owner

"Dogs definitely have similar mannerisms and traits to their owners. A dog, like a child, is a product of its environment."

Photographers Ollie Grove and Will Robson-Scott set out to capture a special type of bond between dog and owner.

Over the course of several years, the two artists traveled between Europe and the United States to meet and photograph dozens of pet owners with a unique affinity for their furry companions.

Their new photo book, In Dogs We Trust, compiles these images into a beautiful, 124-page hardcover book that reveals what modern dog ownership looks like today.

The duo met a wide range of pet owners to show that people come in as many shapes and sizes as the dogs they own.

Everyone from prominent CEOs to adult entertainers, next-door neighbors, and even celebrity artists like Martin Parr and KAWS.

In a discussion with BuzzFeed, Will Robson-Scott shared the inspiration behind making the book:

"Dogs have a huge impact in today's society — dog ownership in the First World is obsessional. To us there wasn't a book that investigated the subject as much as we would like."

    Will goes on:

"Elliott Erwitt is the king seminal dog photographer of our time, but there are bodies of work, like Marc Joseph's American Pitbull, that have been slightly overlooked."

"The real inspiration was our love for dogs, and also the eccentricities of the owners themselves."

When asked if he noticed similarities between the owners and their pets:

"Im not 100% sold on the idea that dogs look like their owners, but dogs definitely have similar mannerisms and traits to their owners. A dog, like a child, is a product of its environment."

"I haven't met many badly behaved dogs, but met many badly behaved owners."
