Where they've been spotted: Australia. Watch the recounting of an incredible encounter here.

Characteristics: Ape-like and 7–12 feet tall with oversized feet, much like the North American Sasquatch.

Other names: Jurrawarra, Puttikan, Gubba, Doolaga, Yahoo, Wawee, and Jimbra.

Characteristics: 30 to 60 inches tall, covered in short grey-brown hair.

Other names: Sedapa, Batutut, Ebu Gogo, Umang, Ijaoe, and Goegoeh.

Where they've been spotted: Canada.

Characteristics: Similar to a Yeti with less hair, but is known to take several different forms.

Other names: Weendigo, Windiga, and Witiko.
