FHSU Living Learning Community
You got Athletes Today, Leaders Tomorrow! This LLC is for FHSU student-athletes who have completed the NCAA eligibility as a qualifier or partial qualifier for FHSU Athletic Financial Aid Agreement. Although specific to athletes only, students can have any major to join. ATLT works with the SAAC group at FHSU and hosts community service events and socials.
Artful Minds is a community for students interested in art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, interior design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, or studio art. Students will have the opportunity to delve into the world of art and design beyond the classroom and interact with others in order to broaden one's artistic experience.
Beaming Tigers is a learning community designed for students interested in medical diagnostic imaging, radiologic technology, or ultrasound. Students in this community will have the opportunity to participate in a mini-conference.
You may be living at home but you still get the college experience of being a part of a learning community. CU on Campus is a learning community for students who are commuting from home to attend FHSU. This experience will allow you to gain friendships, academic support, and a connection to the university.
Earth Rise! Do you like the earth, sustaining the environment, and learning more about our contribution to take care of our planet? This learning community is great for students interested in sustainability, convservation, biology, geosciences, wildlife ecology, and the environment. Activities range from tree planting, trips to festivals, and open discussion about our planet.
Everybody’s Business is a learning community for students interested in accounting, business education, business law, economics, finance, hospitality management, human resource management, marketing, management, and tourism. You will not only experience ways in which to effectively manage a business, but also learn skills in how to market yourself as an individual. Everybody’s Business also travels abroad to serve young entrepreneurs in the area of business.
Go Global! is a learning community designed for students interested in meeting international students, international studies, study abroad, and world cultures.
Heart and Mind: Philosophy & the Arts is a learning community for students who want to explore the variety of art and it’s relation to a life well-lived. These students have the opportunity to attend symphonies, art exhibits, plays and more. They have in depth conversations on how to interpret and appreciate the arts and its revolution over the years.
Help Starts Here is a learning community open to students whose major will allow them the opportunity to serve others. Students may be interested in social work, psychology, speech-language pathology, or allied health. This new learning community puts an emphasis on service and the importance to connect and help others.
Ideas Change the World focuses on technology, informatics, communications, and computer science. This learning community is for students who want to learn how sharing ideas can make a difference in the world. Students in this community will have the opportunity to attend a conference.
L3: Live. Learn. Lead. This learning community is for students who have a passion for leadership and service. Whether already a leader or seeking ways to develop leadership skills, this very active learning community connects leadership and service to provide you with opportunities across campus.
Let's Talk is a community for students interested in speech language pathology, audiology, or communication sciences & disorders. Students will have the opportunity to observe clinicians in action.
Nightingale Power is a learning community for students who are specifically pre-nursing. This is a great opportunity for nursing majors to have the advantage of taking a pre-nursing course a year earlier than other students. This learning community is an academic support system for first year nursing students. They will also have the unique opportunity to have a Peer Academic Leader who is also a member of the nursing program and can offer insight.
Opportunity Through Education is a learning community for students who are majoring in education including early childhood development, elementary education, and secondary education. This learning community will explore global issues relating to education.
Outdoor Adventure and Wide World of Sports is for students who are active and/or passionate about the outdoors and sports. Students in this learning community will experience camping, fishing, hiking, and the participation in intramural sports program at FHSU.
Students Without Borders is a new learning community merging the ethnic, cultural, and identity diversity in the U.S. Coming to collage can be a new and exciting memory, with challenges to our ideas and background. This learning community strives to celebrate student differences and encourages exploring the many backgrounds.
Tiger Traditions is the learning community for a student who loves history and is interested in exploring the traditions and school spirit of FHSU. Students will learn about the institutions history by exploring artifacts and year books from the past. Students will also have an active role in promoting the FHSU Tiger spirit and be a major surge in the Tiger pride at FHSU events.
Transfer Network is a learning community specific to students transferring to FHSU from a two-year or four-year institution. The network helps students assimilate to FHSU and provides them with resources, social opportunities, and connections on the campus.
Zeneration One is a community dedicated to first generation students (the first student in their family to either attend college or will graduate with a college degree).
