I really am trying to work out the hype of this in my head, but I just don't get it! So in the name of science, I decided to try it myself. I pulled out two options: plain Cheerios and Honey Bunches of Oats. I figured I had to taste-test with both a sweeter cereal and a cereal with...pretty little flavor.
It doesn't say how long to let your cereal sit in the freezer, so I thought half an hour would be good enough. I poured milk into my first option (Cheerios) and got to tasting!
I was skeptical going into this. I thought it had to be a joke because I couldn't figure out what could possibly make freezing cereal special. But...it's really good! Like, WAY better than room temperature cereal?!
Next up was my more sugary cereal. The bowl was too cold to keep holding, but it was really good! It's almost like you haven't properly had cereal until you've put a bowl in the freezer?!
To show you how cold the bowl got in the freezer, the oat milk I used started freezing on the edges!
In conclusion, I now fully support putting cereal in the freezer before you eat it. You just have to try it. Trust me.
