I think we as human beings are entitled to something called agency. This is, essentially, the ability to make our own choices. This being said, I completely believe in this woman’s right to choose her own path and make her own decisions. I think we all need to realize that in this life, we are entitled to choose, to decide, to speak out, to hold our peace, etc; but, we are not in control of the resulting consequences to our decisions. This woman chose to take action according to a belief she holds - which challenges an organized religion - and the consequence was excommunication. She, and others may disagree with the consequence, but that’s the way the Mormon cookie crumbles. There is nothing wrong with the decision made by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are simply established in our beliefs.
