These 2019 Horror Movies Look So Scary You Might Actually Poop Your Pants

The first five months of 2019 have brought us some truly terrifying tales. I mean, the Pet Sematary remake? Jordan Peele's much-anticipated Us? We've barely slept a wink!

But don't think you'll be getting any shut eye just yet. Some of the best horror releases of 2019 have yet to be released.

If you love watching horror flicks so terrifying that you might poop your pants, stay tuned. Here you are seven upcoming horror releases that definitely deserve a spot on your watchlist.

7. Brightburn (2019)

A lot of movie-watchers groaned when they saw the commercial for what at first looked like just another Superman remake. That is until things got a little spooky. So maybe this child from another world crash-lands on Earth just like the Man of Steel. But what if this child's moral compass is a little bit less Clark Kent and more Doomsday? That's the premise of Brightburn, an upcoming horror movie starring Elizabeth Banks and David Denman. After the promising trailer, we couldn't be more excited to see what happens with this classic story told with a dark twist.

6. Ma (2019)

This psychological horror film starring Octavio Spencer and Luke Evans is scheduled for released on May 31, 2019, by Universal Pictures. It's about a lonely woman who befriends a group of teenagers and decides to let them party at her house. Just when the kids think their luck couldn't get any better, things start happening that make them question the intentions of their host. It's Academy Award-winner Octavia Spencer's first foray into the horror genre, and we couldn't be more excited to see what she brings to Ma's table.

5. Doctor Sleep (2019)

Whether you're a fan of Stephen King's book or Stanley Kubrick's film of adaption of The Shining (1985), you should be SUPER excited about this one. The story takes place years after the events of The Shining. A grown-up Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers and tries to protect her from a cult known as the True Knot who preys on children with powers for nefarious reasons. But we'll leave it at and try not to give too much away. The film is set to be released in October, and honestly, we can't wait!

4. Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

The third installment in the Annabelle franchise has us curious to see how paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, are going to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc. Although the first movie wasn't a huge success, Annabelle: Creation (2017) managed to pick up the slack for the series, leaving us hungry for more creepy doll action.

3. Child's Play (2019)

Child's Play is written by Tyler Burton Smith, directed by Lars Klevberg, and serves as a remake/reboot of the 1988 film of the same name. The film stars Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, Brian Tyree Henry, and Tim Matheson. Oh, and Mark Hamill will voice Chucky, the terrifying doll that still haunts Spencers' across American malls to this day. Will this new look at the 1988 classic play as well as the first one? We sure are excited to find out!

2. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)

Remember those books that gave you nightmares as a kid? Well, they're back. Based on the book of the same name written by Alvin Schwartz, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark left us terrified after the first teaser dropped. Can't wait for wave upon wave of nostalgia tinged with overwhelming fear!

After the major success of It Chapter One (2017), audiences are waiting for the highly anticipated sequel that's going to take place 27 years after the events of the first film. The Losers' Club have grown up and moved away, putting the nightmare that is Pennywise far behind them. That is until a phone call threatens to make them face the monster of their past. It Chapter Two is sure to bring horror enthusiasts back together at the theaters as well.
