That's the premise of Brightburn, an upcoming horror movie starring Elizabeth Banks and David Denman. After the promising trailer, we couldn't be more excited to see what happens with this classic story told with a dark twist.

The story takes place years after the events of The Shining. A grown-up Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers and tries to protect her from a cult known as the True Knot who preys on children with powers for nefarious reasons. But we'll leave it at and try not to give too much away. The film is set to be released in October, and honestly, we can't wait!

    4. Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

    Warner Bros.

The third installment in the Annabelle franchise has us curious to see how paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, are going to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc. Although the first movie wasn't a huge success, Annabelle: Creation (2017) managed to pick up the slack for the series, leaving us hungry for more creepy doll action.

We sure are excited to find out!
