Add a little funk to your costume whilst getting scared at Tayman Graveyard. This year, the haunted theme park is going to have a 70’s disco nightmare.

An alternative way to celebrate Halloween is to honor loved ones who’ve passed away. Do this at Seattle Center’s Dia De Muertos event where there will be live performances, face painting (sugar skull makeup, anyone?) and a traditional altar.

6. Austin, TX

Camp Brewhaha / Via camp-brewhaha.com

Though clowns are currently roaming the city, there’s lots of non-carnival things happening on Halloween like Camp Brewhaha. Fill your Halloween weekend with lots of food, drinks, concerts and films – the fun part is being able to stay overnight in a cabin.

5. Houston, TX

Something Wicked / Via somethingwicked.com

Visit Beyonce's hometown for Halloween for a gauranteed good time. If music's your thing, try night full of EDM and dancing outdoors in a sweet costume at H-Town's Something Wicked.

4. Los Angeles, CA

Hollywood Bowl / Via hollywoodbowl.com

Things Angelenos love: partying, nostalgia, and the Hollywood Bowl. Relive your childhood favorite with a live performance and screening of the film at the Hollywood Bowl a few days before Halloween. Don your best Sally costume at the Halloween Carnaval in West Hollywood on Halloween day.

3. San Jose, CA

Winchester Mystery House / Via winchestermysteryhouse.com

Nothing says Halloween like a tour of 160-room haunted Victorian mansion with only candle light as your guide. Book your trip to the Winchester Mystery House for the ultimate eerie experience.

2. San Diego, CA

San Diego Zombie Crawl / Via sandiegozombiecrawl.com

If you’re into zombies and warm weather, San Diego on Halloween is for you. Known as one of the top 3 Halloween events in Southern California, the Zombie Crawl is a two-day bar crawl full of live entertainment, drink specials, and of course, zombies!

1. Chicago, IL

Statesville Haunted Prison / Via statesvillehauntedprison.com

The Windy CIty tops Evite’s list for the third year in a row. From corn mazes to haunted houses, Chicago has lots of options for Halloween. To get real spooked, visit the Statesville Haunted Prison.
