Here Is The Cast Of "Ted Lasso," Then Vs. Now

It's hard to believe that Rebecca and the Shame Nun from Game of Thrones are played by the same person.

Ted Lasso is the best show on Apple TV+.

I do not make the rules, this is simply the truth.

The workplace comedy about an American football coach moving to London to coach a soccer team premiered last summer, but it's finally getting the attention it deserves after winning a Golden Globe award and three Critics' Choice Awards, including Best Comedy Series.

Here's what the amazing cast was up to before they starred on the show, in case you want to know more about them before Season 2 drops later this year:

Jason Sudeikis, who plays Ted Lasso

Jason is probably best known for his work as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, but he's also starred in lots of funny movies like We're The Millers and Horrible Bosses. One of his most famous SNL impressions was of former VP and current POTUS, Joe Biden. He has won a Golden Globe and a Critics' Choice award for his portrayal of Ted.

Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton

Hannah has had a long career in musical theater in the UK, but international audiences might recognize her as Sofia, one of Jackson's moms on Sex Education or of course, as the one and only Septa Unella (AKA Shame Nun) on Game of Thrones. She won a Critics' Choice Award for her perfect portrayal of Rebecca.

Juno Temple, who plays Keeley Jones

Apple TV+ / Courtesy Everett Collection

You've definitely seen Juno Temple in something, because she's been in a ton of huge movies. She's had roles in The Dark Knight Rises, Atonement, The Other Boleyn Girl, and she played Thistlewit (one of the fairies) in the Maleficent movies.

Nick Mohammed, who plays Nate Shelley

Apple TV+ / Courtesy Everett Collection

Before starring in Ted Lasso, Nick was a comedian with several successful TV show appearances under his belt. He was a cast member on the British sketch comedy show Sorry, I've Got No Head, and most recently he created and starred in Intelligence with David Schwimmer. He was also the voice of Piglet in 2018's Cristopher Robin.

Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent

Apple TV+ / Courtesy Everett Collection

Besides playing Roy on the show, Brett Goldstein is also a writer on Ted Lasso. He's acted in a number of British sitcoms like Derek with Ricky Gervais and Hoff The Record with David Hasselhoff, and wrote and starred in the superhero comedy Superbob. Most recently, he co-created Soulmates, which is available on Amazon Prime.

Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard

He plays Coach Beard on the show, but Brendan Hunt has had a loooong comedy career before that. Besides being a successful playwright, he appeared on shows like Parks and Rec, Community, How I Met Your Mother, and Key and Peele. He was also nominated for an Emmy Award for co-writing the Key and Peele Superbowl Special. Before co-creating Ted Lasso, he also played Coach Beard in the NBC Sports commercials that inspired the show.

Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie Tartt

The actor behind Jamie Tartt has also appeared in films like Murder on the Orient Express and Judy. British audiences might also know him from his work on shows like Humans and The Trouble with Maggie Cole.

    Jeremy Swift, who plays Higgins

Before playing the well-meaning but always flustered Higgins, Jeremy Swift was best known for playing Septimus Spratt, the butler to Maggie Smith's Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey. He also appeared in Jupiter Rising with Mila Kunis.

Sarah Niles, who will play Sharon

We haven't seen Sarah Niles on the show just yet (she just joined the cast for Season 2), but we know she'll be playing a sports psychologist working with the Richmond team. Her breakout TV role was on Beautiful People with Olivia Colman, and most recently she costarred in Catastrophe and I May Destroy You.

Toheeb Jimoh, who plays Sam Obisanya

    Apple TV+ / Courtesy Everett Collection/BBC One

Before playing the big-hearted Sam Obisanya on Ted Lasso, Toheeb Jimoh received critical acclaim for his leading role in Anthony. Before that, he guest-starred on the British web series The Feed.

Cristo Fernández, who plays Dani Rojas

    Apple TV+/Courtesy Everett Collection/Cristo Fernández

Before playing the bubbly Dani Rojas (football is life!), Cristo Fernández directed, produced, and starred in several short films with his production company. Also, he actually used to be a professional soccer player! That means that he's doing all of his own soccer moves on the show, which is pretty darn cool.

    Kola Bokinni, who plays Isaac

    Apple TV+/BBC

He plays Isaac on Ted Lasso, but Kola Bokinni has had roles in quite a few TV shows, including Black Mirror, Top Boy, and Cursed on Netflix.

And finally, Anthony Head, who plays Rupert Mannion

Apple TV+/20th Century Fox/Courtesy Everett Collection

If you don't immediately recognize Anthony Head when you see him as the awful Rupert Mannion on the show, nobody blames you. The role is a far cry from the part that made him famous, aka Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also played Uther Pendragon on Merlin.
