Brands will tell ya anything, so we asked our readers.

Posted on

We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to put us onto their favorite makeup products for sensitive skin. They gave us a bunch of goodies, and we now have a legit reason to spend our dollars on more beauty stuff.

It's not wasteful if it's an investment in your health. #deep.

1. Glossier Cloud Paint for a pigmented blush that won't clog your pores.

Essence Gant / BuzzFeed

"I have pretty sensitive skin (I can't even wear fragrance!). I really like Glossier's Cloud Paint cream blush formula because it's highly pigmented and it doesn't clog my pores or make me breakout in hives or anything. Also, a little goes a long way so it lasts for a while." —Essence Gant

Get it on Glossier for $18.

2. Simplicity Cosmetics eyeshadows when you think you're all out of options.

@simplicitycosmetics / Via instagram.com

"My sensitive skin is next level. After years of dermatologists, antibiotics, creams, accutane, it turns out I just can't tolerate much, so I go slow and try one thing at a time. Here are some things that've worked for me:

* Foundation and eyeshadow by Simplicity Cosmetics on Etsy

* Eyeshadow by Feather River Body on Etsy

* Mascara and eyeliner by Clinique

* Eyeliner by Urban Decay

* Lipstick by Burt's Bees

* Lipstick by Lipstick Queen" —joanned428f02c6a

Get them on Etsy for $8.

3. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream for a solid protective layer.

@bareminerals / Via instagram.com

"For makeup I use Complexion Rescue by Bare Minerals. I've found that as long as my skin has a solid first protective layer, I can get by with whatever products I want for the rest of my routine—except any formula that has rose hips (that was a lesson well-learned!)." —adrianah4b704f90e

Get it on Sephora for $29.50.

5. Tarte eyeshadow palettes if you have sensitive lids.

__make . me . up / Via instagram.com

7. Erase Your Face Makeup Removing Cloth to clean your face without irritating it.

@amysbeautytips / Via instagram.com

"Not necessarily makeup, but I use Erase Your Face makeup removing cloths to get everything off my face without adding anything else to my skin. These cloths are machine washable, so soft, and reusable up to a few times before you throw them in the washing machine. I have eczema on my eyelids, and these cloths take even waterproof eyeliner off without irritation." —Allison Burko, Facebook

Get it on Bed Bath & Beyond for $9.99.

8. Glossier Skin Tint for a most natural finish.

@glossier / Via instagram.com

9. Bare Minerals Powder Foundation for coverage that won't clog your pores.

@bareminerals / Via instagram.com

10. Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment for soft lips that won't peel.

@freshbeauty / Via instagram.com

11. Lush Eyes Right for a mascara that doesn't burn.

@callme_lushie / Via instagram.com

"Lush skin care and makeup are great for my skin! I love their Celestial moisturizer (seriously the most delicious scent), and Eyes Right Mascara. Most mascaras burn when you get some in your eye, but this one is pain-free." —baesjling

Get it on Lush for $19.95.

12. Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup for coverage that doesn't clog.

@makeupvieblogs / Via instagram.com

"Clinique's Acne Solutions foundation formula eliminated my breakouts through high school. I still use it daily because I'm too afraid to stop using the little miracle." —amyelizabethkitty

Get it on Sephora for $28.

13. Stila One Step Correct to prime skin and neutralize blemishes.

"I've had bad skin most of my life. In my twenties, after I thought I was in the clear, a cystic acne outbreak sent me to a dermatologist. He put me on medication and got me back on track, but I still have to be careful. Plus now I seem to have rosacea and redness, so I have tried a LOT of stuff. I know everyone's skin is different but maybe my experiences can help someone out :)

Here's the good stuff:

* Stila One Step Correct

* Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Makeup , which I like way better than Bare Minerals.

* Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and Veil Fluid Oil-Free Makeup, but they're soooo expensive.

* Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation, which is also expensive.

* L'Oréal Pro-Matte and Pro-Glow. It's surprisingly good for drugstore makeup. "

@the_fairy_glam_mother / Via instagram.com
