I hope these characters never blip out of my life again.
The disappearance of Lady Sif genuinely keeps me up at night. The Warriors Three were all killed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok, but the fiercest female warrior in Asgard never made a SINGLE. 👏APPEARANCE. 👏
Where's Sif been? She appeared a few times in the ABC show, Marvel’s: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, but that's the last time we saw her. I would love to see her make a reappearance in Thor: Love and Thunder or even Loki's upcoming Disney+ show. Come on, Marvel, BRING BACK LADY SIF!
Although she appears in six MCU films, as well as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Maria is vastly overlooked and brushed off as a side character at best. But, honestly? I’m honestly not sure if Nick Fury would be alive if it wasn’t for her!
Maria works in the background of S.H.I.E.L.D and when it all falls apart, Stark hires her to help Pepper run the company. She's a girl boss and I will take no Maria Hill slander. 🙅
Okay, y’all. The Original Wasp deserves a little bit more attention than she’s been getting!
Everyone from the Ant-Man franchise is disgustingly undervalued, but I don’t think we’re paying enough attention to the fact that Janet Van Dyne survived and thrived in the quantum realm for 30 YEARS. 30! YEARS! And, I mean, come on. Michelle Pfeiffer.
Can we get some Heimdall love in here?
Asgard would have been completely destroyed thousands of years earlier if it wasn’t for Heimdall. His power of being able to see everything makes him one of the most powerful people in the MCU.
Also, he single-handedly saved half the people of Asgard during Hela’s attack and gave his life to send the Hulk to Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum to alert Earth to Thanos' impending arrival. RIP Heimdall. You were a real one.
Wong! He’s powerful sorcerer and is Stephen Strange’s right hand man for a reason.
Not only did he save Tony’s life when Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian came to New York at the beginning of Infinity War, but he is constantly coming in clutch for the benefit of the entire universe. Not to mention that he perfectly guarded the Sanctum for five years while Doctor Strange was a pile of Cumberdust. 10/10 guy.
Mmmm.. M’Baku thicc!
Although he and T’Challa have some differences, you know that he has a real and unconditional love for Wakanda. He is always there to fight for what’s right, offers help whenever he can for the betterment of the world, and deserves all of the recognition and more!
I really hope he's given the proper attention he deserves in Black Panther 2. If not, I will be very upset and rant about it to my friends and family who could not care less. Also, Winston Duke is just a stand up guy!
While on the topic of Wakanda’s finest, let’s talk about my favorite Disney princess!
Shuri is the smartest person in the MCU, hands down. Sorry Tony, but I said what I said. Shuri is only sixteen in the MCU and she is in charge of all the (super cool and advanced) technology in Wakanda. When I was 16, I was obsessing over One Direction and had absolutely no impact on society, so she’s pretty badass to me.
OKAY, LISTEN! Some people may say that Sam isn’t underrated since he received Cap's shield in Endgame and he has the new show The Falcon and The Winter Soldier coming out this year.
To that I say that Sam Wilson has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014 and has been Cap’s ride or die ever since. He has constantly been there for Steve even when some could say he didn’t deserve it. Then Steve just up and leaves both him and Bucky to go live in an alternate timeline with Peggy. After all they've been through! Smh.
Oh, you bet we're getting into SHIELD territory now!
Bobbi Morse is a super spy that was only on the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for a short time but seriously made her mark. Her first appearance as an undercover HYDRA agent made you instantly hate her until it was revealed that she's actually a S.H.I.E.L.D agent who must be loved and protected at all costs. She’s kind, sarcastic, yet absolutely terrifying because of how skilled she is. Long live Barbara Morse!
A lot of people might not know who this absolute BADASS is. Agent Melinda May is also from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She is a super spy who is on the same level as Natasha Romanoff and was supposed to be part of the Avengers Initiative, but after a crazy mission she stated she would never work in the field again. Like all the Avengers, it took Phil Coulson to put her back on track.
I would love to see Melinda and Bobbi teamed up, even if for only one scene, in an upcoming MCU movie. That would be amazing!
Okay. I feel like I need to preface this like I did with Sam. Nebula had a bigger role in Avengers: Endgame, but I still would consider her an underrated character.
I know that Gamora is seen as the fiercest woman in the galaxy, but I wouldn’t consider Nebula far off either — she's extremely passionate and I think that she has one of the most progressive character arcs in the MCU. I mean, come on! She literally killed her alternate self in Endgame. I think it’s safe to say I would trust her with my life.
I don’t think I have ever been so angry at a character dying in the MCU as I was when Pietro sped out of our lives in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
I really like Quicksilver, his powers, and his snark, but I feel like there was a lot of his personality and character arc that we've all missed out on when he died. Especially when it comes his relationship with his twin sister Wanda. Like, what would he think of her and Vision together? Did he see that coming?
I've got my fingers crossed that they bring him back during the Disney+ show WandaVision, since that show looks confusing as hell and I’m sure they could figure out a way to do it. Bring back Pietro!
Oh, Fitz. If you haven’t watched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Fitz at number one might seem a bit anti-climactic, but if you have, you know exactly why he’s the perfect pick.
Leopold Fitz is a genius engineer who is such a vital part of the S.H.I.E.L.D team. He’s quirky and relatable and I’m so upset that we won’t see more of him after this final season. Not enough people know of him or his lovely and equally genius wife and partner, Jemma Simmons, but now you do! I highly recommend the show — it's insanely well done and complex. It also has Fitz, who is undoubtedly one of my favorite (and most underrated) characters in all of the MCU.
