10. "Election"

The woman: Wannabe teacher's pet and OCD perfectionist, Tracy Flick, played by the incomparable Reese Witherspoon.

The victim(s): Jim McAllister (Matthew Broderick), the high school teacher whose fatal error is trying to get in Tracy's way of election victory. McAllister's best friend Dave (Mark Harelik), who's fired and divorced after sleeping with Tracy. And the loveably sweet jock with a bum leg, Paul Metzler (Chris Klein), who dares run against Tracy.

The reason: Big dreams call for big buttons and posters. And Tracy won't let anyone get in the way of her plans to leave suburban Nebraska for good.

The woman: Keri Russell plays Jenna, a southern waitress who loves to bake pies and is dealing with an abusive marriage and unwanted pregnancy. Poor Jenna and her delicious pies.

The victim(s): Earl Hunterson, Jenna’s abusive hubby with sexy facial hair, played by Jeremy Sisto.

The reason: It ain’t easy being tied down to a man who beats you, steals your money and refuses to let you go. That's why Jenna cuts off those ties and starts a new life after the birth of their daughter. Sorry, Earl, but you had to get gone. (Did I mention she escaped life with him by having an affair with her hot obstetrician and getting a renewed sense of courage?)

8. "Interview With The Vampire"

The woman: Claudia, the ageless child stuck in a vampire body, played by Kirsten Dunst.

The victim(s): Her vampire creator, Lestat de Lioncourt, played by a pre-crazy Tom Cruise.

The reason: When Claudia realizes that Lestat has created a life for her in which she’ll never age, she decides to get a little vampy payback. By tricking Lestat into drinking poisoned blood, he grows weak enough for her to slit his throat and dump his body in a swamp. Pretty badass for a little lady!

7. "The Color Purple"

The woman: Stronger-than-she-looks Celie, played by Whoopi Goldberg.

The victim(s): Celie’s abusive husband Albert, who she calls “Mister” per his request, played by Danny Glover.

The reason: Oh boy, is “everything” a valid reason? Not only does Albert physically and verbally abuse Celie, but he also cheats on her, hides letters from her sister, and treats her like his personal slave. Luckily, Celie gets the confidence she needs to hold a knife to his throat and tell him that if he doesn’t do right by her, he’ll suffer the consequences. And like all good films, he suffers dearly for his actions.

6. "Nine to Five"

The women: Three female coworkers turned unlikely friends, played by Jane Fonda as Judy Bernly, Lily Tomlin as Violet Newstead and Dolly Parton as Doralee Rhodes. Look at that hair! It's unstoppable!

The victim(s): Their sexist boss, Mr. Hart, played by Dabney Coleman.

The reason: Ever had an awful boss you fantasized about picking apart piece by piece until they were completely destroyed? That’s essentially what happens here, when these three women decide they’ve had enough sexual harassment, discrimination and stupidity for one lifetime and take matters into their own hands. And that's why it's never wise to be rude to your employees!

5. "Enough"

The woman: Her highness J.Lo, as Slim. (That's the character's actual name, I'm not just commenting of her incredible physique.)

The victim(s): Her controlling wife beater of a hubby, Mitch, played by Billy Campbell.

The reason: You see, Mitch isn’t very nice. He cheats on Slim, basically tells her to deal with it, and explains that if she tries to leave him, he’ll make her life a living hell and/or kill her. (What a meanie, right?!) Anyway, J.Lo, nay Slim, is not about to lay down and take it. She has had enough! Just like the title says.

4. "Hard Candy"

The woman: Ellen Page as Hayley Stark, aka To Catch A Predator's Chris Hansen on steroids.

The victim(s): Jeff Kohlver, the 32-year-old pedophile Hayley’s been stalking, played by Patrick Wilson.

The reason: I mean, who wouldn’t want to end the reign of a known pedophile? And if you can torture him in the process, well, that's just a fun bonus.

3. "The First Wives Club"

The women: Goldie Hawn as famous actress Elise, Diane Keaton as housewife Annie, and Bette Midler as Brenda, a single mother. These three are a revenge trifecta of first wives out for justice. Sisters are doing it for themselves...just saying.

The victim(s): Their three clueless ex-husbands, played by Stephen Collins, Victor Garber and Dan Hedaya. Poor schmucks.

The reason: Their ex-hubby's are all jerks in their own right, and have all moved on to younger models of women. So, while part of the revenge stems from personal desires, there's also the fact that they're essentially doing it all in memory of their friend Cynthia, who committed suicide after her divorce. BFFs for life is not just a saying, OK?

2. "Fatal Attraction"

The woman: Single white female Alex Forrest, played by Glenn Close.

The victim(s): Her lover/baby daddy, Dan Gallagher, played by Michael Douglas. And the poor little bunny she puts in a pot. ☹

The reason: Alex isn’t crazy, she just wants a little attention. And to take the place of Dan’s wife. And to kill bunnies in the process. That's all. Is that so much to ask for?

The victim(s): Their first kill—and deservedly so—is Harlan Puckett (Timothy Carhart), aka the rapist. Followed by the truck driver (Marco St. John) who didn’t see them coming. And rounding it out with Thelma’s dimwitted hubby/widower Darryl, played by Christopher McDonald.

The reason: Once you kill one guy, you might as well go out on the run and live your fugitive life to the fullest, right? Besides, what’s the alternative? Prison? Prison’s for jerks.
