The whole heartbreaking 42 minutes find Lorelai unable to cope with responsibilities of opening the Dragonfly Inn and Rory struggling with her course load at Yale. And the worst of it, they keep missing each other and pretending everything is fine to a voicemail. Everything is not fine. Everything is tears.

7. When Lorelai Fought with Christopher

Christopher comes back to confront Lorelai about why things didn't work (and everyone's like, uh, you have a pregnant girlfriend and you need to deal with that.) He makes her cry and Emily kicks him out. This really upsets everyone, us included.
