Season 1: Ep. 9 — The One Where Underdog Got Away

Memorable parts: Joey "gets" VD, Rachel misses her flight to go "schoop, schoop, schooping," Monica burns the turkey.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃 (3 out of 5 turkeys) — It's the show's first Thanksgiving and it feels as obligatory as putting green beans on your plate, but there's plenty of great jokes and "aww" moments.

Season 2: Ep. 8 — The One With The List

Memorable parts: Chandler gets revved up about a laptop with "built-in spreadsheet capabilities" (lol), Rachel recounts her kiss with Ross and Monica is weirdly into it (ew), Ross makes a list about why he shouldn't date Rachel.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃 (1 out of 5 turkeys) — This is by far the worst Thanksgiving episode in Friends history because it's really an episode about Ross and Rachel that just happens to take place on Thanksgiving. If you're pressed for time, skip it.

Season 3: Ep. 9 — The One With The Football

Memorable parts: Joey thinks the Netherlands is where Peter Pan is from, Phoebe flashes Chandler her breast meat, Rachel scores a touchdown.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃 (5 out of 5 turkeys) — This is all you want from a Friends Thanksgiving episode: competition, decades-old rivarly, and a very '90s (read: outdated and vaguely unprogressive) battle of the sexes.

Season 4: Ep. 8 — The One With Chandler In A Box

Memorable parts: Monica wears an eye patch AND dips a toe into the pool of incest (big ep for Mon!), Rachel is outed as a gift-returner, and you'll never believe this from the episode title but Chandler's in a box.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃🦃 (4 out of 5 turkeys) — A Thanksgiving episode chock full of goofiness. Do you think Matthew Perry was really in the box that whole time?

Season 5: Ep. 8 — The One With All The Thanksgivings

Memorable parts: Chandler loses a toe, two separate people put a turkey on their head, Chandler tells Monica he loves her.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃 (5 out of 5 turkeys) — This flashback episode has so much Thanksgiving in it it's practically dripping with gravy.

Season 6: Ep. 9 — The One Where Ross Got High

Memorable parts: Rachel ruins the trifle, Phoebe crushes on Jack Geller, Ross admits he got high as a teenager.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃🦃 (4 out of 5 turkeys) — The trifle bit is funny enough on its own to make this one of the better Thanksgiving episodes in the Friends canon.

Season 7: Ep. 8 — The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs

Memorable parts: Rachel makes out with her assistant whose actual name is Tag, Ross won't eat turkey until he can remember all 50 states, Satan—I mean Chandler—reveals that he hates dogs.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃 (2 out of 5 turkeys) — This isn't one of the more memorable Thanksgiving episodes, but there is a great joke about "moo points."

Season 8: Ep. 9 — The One With The Rumor

Memorable parts: Rachel is pregnant, Will/Brad Pitt talks about the "I Hate Rachel Green" Club, Joey wears maternity pants and tries to eat a whole turkey.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃 (3 out of 5 turkeys) — This episode has some seriously dated and problematic views towards gender and sexuality, which makes it difficult to enjoy. I will say that Brad Pitt's hairflip at minute 11:30 is iconic, though.

Season 9: Ep. 8 — The One With Rachel's Other Sister

Memorable parts: Monica finally breaks out the good china, Christina Applegate is pissed she won't get Rachel's baby if she and Ross die, Phoebe teaches Joey how to lie.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃🦃 (3 out of 5 turkeys) — Who doesn't love a family feud over Thanksgiving dinner?

Season 10: Ep. 8 — The One With The Late Thanksgiving

Memorable parts: Rachel enters Emma into a baby beauty pageant, Chandler is a little too proud of his cranberry sauce, Joey gets lubed up with turkey grease after getting his head stuck in the door.

Thanksgiving-y-ness: 🦃🦃 (2 out of 5 turkeys) — The gang DOES NOT respect Thanksgiving in this episode. They show up late to Monica's dinner AND they forget the pies! It's not the most cheerful Thanksgiving episode, but it does the job.
