While we could all use this as a reminder to pay attention and stay off of our phones on the road, should this woman really be used as an example like this? Couldn’t her name have been left off, at least? This is not her entire legacy and, as someone who lost a a loved one in a very public manner, I am almost certain that this stamp on her memory is causing pain to her family. We all make mistakes, and I can guarantee that many of us pointing fingers could have easily been in this moment at some point. It’s a tragedy, yes, and an example of a foolish mistake. But let’s not forget that the person in this quickly constructed article is someone’s loved one — a person who is not unlike many of us who find it quite easy to sit on our high horses right now because our mistakes haven’t been made so public.
