Today as i was scrolling through my newsfeed i stumbled upon this article shared by one of my friends, and i instantly felt a pit in my stomach. Upon reading the article i learned that although the city had originally rejected the ad as they considered it controversial a judge ruled that it was protected under the the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. I am all for free speech but the ad described is unesscessarily graphic and carries the slogan "abortion kills children". I have to wonder if The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform took into consideration the women who had no choice but to terminate their pregnancy due to complications or the women and young girls who have been victims of sexual assault. These women will be forced to ride the bus and see these ads bringing back the pain that they've had to endure. Abortion laws lead to the deaths of women who feel they have no choice but to terminate their pregnancy some women feel they have no choice but to recieve unsafe abortions not performed by a doctor and sometimes resort to using household products to end their pregnancy do the lifes of women not matter in comparison to a bundle of cells?
City of Peterborough responds: no choice but to allow pro life ads on city buses
