Summer is approaching fast, and it's time to find an internship!
You begin applying at a few places, optimistic about your chances of getting hired.
A couple weeks go by and you don't hear anything from those places.
You decide to update your resume a bit and apply at a few more places.
The silence continues. The panic begins to set in.
Finally, someone shows interest and would like to schedule an interview!
You stay up all night researching the company, updating your resume, and practicing your answers.
You go to the interview in your only clean button up shirt and pants reserved for special occasions.
You've got your resume, your writing samples, your best smile! You've totally got this.
The questions begin. My greatest strength?
You leave the interview, feeling slightly confident but mostly sweaty.
Then, the waiting begins again.
You start seeing all of your friends getting hired. You begin to worry there will be no more jobs left for you.
You frantically begin applying anywhere that's hiring, regardless of your qualifications.
Another place is interested! Schedule that interview!
Another rejection email! Eat that ice cream!
Until finally, you get the email you've been waiting for: "After close consideration, we would like to offer you a position with our company."
You celebrate with Hot Pockets and cheap wine because you're an adult with a ~job~.
All is well in the world...until it's time to start looking for an internship for the fall.
