It's infused with *tingly* tea tree leaf oil extract, peppermint, and witch hazel extract to remove oil and buildup, and soothe your head so that your hair is free of dulling components. It's also great for cancelling flaking and itchiness!

Promising review: "I purchased this after being diagnosed with dermatitis on my scalp. I've been using prescription shampoo for the dermatitis, however, it dries out my scalp terribly. I put just a little of this on the dry areas and it works wonderfully. Unlike other, much more expensive products I've ordered, the oily-residue is minimal so I can put this in multiple times a day (while at work, running errands, etc.) and it doesn't look like my hair is wet or dirty. This was a great and very affordable find!" —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $3.45.

    2. *Define* a new relationship with your ringlets: A bit of the popular de-frizzing DevaCurl curl styler (that's rich with coconut oil) will quickly reunite you with the shiny locks you've been missing. All this time, and this is all it took.

Promising review: "I have naturally curly hair that I usually straight iron it since I could never get it to air-dry without frizz. I used this product for the first time last night and my hair is light, smooth, managed, and SUPER curly! I am instantly in love with this! I now have the option of going natural, and the best part is, if a curl goes flat you can use a dab on your finger to reactivate." —CorasMom

Get it from Sephora for $24.

    3. Comb a treatment mask through your hair from root to tip to a) prevent waste and b) fully treat your bleached, dry, or frizzy tresses with the repairing product. It's actually a lot more effective than just trying to massage it with your fingers, meaning you'll see results STAT.

I read online and found out castor oil is one of the greatest products for hair growth, but there are lots of castor oil brands. I tried this product because of the good reviews, and ingredients because my scalp was really sensitive. My hair became softer than before and thicker, and one bottle of this castor oil lasted almost a year!" —AmazonCustomer

Promising review: "I bought my first Aquis microfiber towels decades ago for a trip to the Galapagos. I actually still have my two original towels but have since added to the collection. They remain as good today as they were back then, and I don’t wrap my wet hair up in anything but! My hair is less tangled and dries faster when I wrap it in my Aquis towel straight from the shower. The added bonus is that while it is wrapped, I can easily do makeup without stray hairs ending up in the mascara brush. Love my Aquis towels!" —Loves to Travel

Promising review: "Let’s be honest, for an at-home hair product that takes five mins in the shower, this mask kicks ass! I’m so mad I didn’t take before-and-after pictures. But I went from a yellowy bleach blonde to a cool icy blonde in just four minutes! Badass! Next week I’m going to leave it in just a little longer to get a couple of those stubborn brassy blonde highlights out, but seriously for an at-home $25 hair treatment, you can’t beat it!" —Shelly K.

I have been coloring my hair for 30 years and I always hate sitting in the salon, the chemicals, and the bill! I needed to get my hair done (full foil highlights) and my two regular hairdressers were not free, so I went online to do some research. Every reviewer loved this product so I decided to try it. Four morning spritzes later, and my hair looked like I just got out of the salon! I use a couple sprays every couple weeks, and I haven't been back to the salon for months! This is a seriously cool product! You don't need too much, but if you get any brassiness, you can use the John Frieda purple shampoo ($8.19)." —Lisa Mchugh

Promising review: "I'm very impressed with this product! I have badly damaged hair like a bird's nest due to frequent hair coloring, Japanese perm, and hot tools for styling. I was at first reluctant to buy this since it was so cheap and I normally use expensive salon brands. Since I've been using so many products and it didn't take away the tangle or frizz very well, I decided to purchase this product based on its high reviews. I am so glad I did! It got rid of my tangles and made my hair very soft and smooth. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it won't work as well. In this case it worked spectacularly! I am also impressed with the smell. I am very allergic to perfume and this has a very light fruity smell that didn't cause me to sneeze." —honeydew

After a stern talking to by my stylist I decided to look for another one and give it another try. I am so glad I stumbled across this stuff. I tried the small bottle first to see if I liked it and I was shocked how soft my hair felt after using it! It even helps my hair straighten better and makes it so shiny! Highly recommend." —Melissa

ANDDD it mends split ends and restores shine. I am IMPRESSED.

Promising review: "I noticed a difference in my hair as soon as I used it. My hair is just past my shoulders by three inches. It's wavy, but extremely dry and has been shedding a lot lately. So I was desperate to try something new before losing it all. It’s so thin now that it’s a real concern. Right after the first use, I’ve noticed that it is shiny, soft, and much easier to mange. And it's tangle free and has body without being weighed down. It’s nice and fluffy. I LOVE THIS STUFF." —Aragonme

    17. Minimize tearing by switching to a widely-loved Wet Brush that'll detangle BOTH wet and dry hair, minus any painful pulling or breakage. Aka you'll still have every strand of hair you started with.

Promising review: "Most people probably think a brush is just a brush. However, if you're like me and have long, often knotty hair, you know not all brushes are created equal. Most brushes induce tears at some point, even with a detangler spray, so it is safe to say I don't look forward to this process after my showers. I ended up with this Wet Brush, and it wins hands down. I don't feel a thing when brushing my hair, when it's wet or dry. I can't even explain how this brush works, but all I know is that it's a miracle. I'm planning to buy two or three more just so I never am without it." —Sara

Jenny Chang / Via via BuzzFeed

Promising review: "I have dense, natural afro-textured curly hair (4b/4c). I thought cowashes were a gimmick (why not just use cheap conditioner to 'wash'). I was wrong. This product cleansed all of the build-up out and it allowed me to wash my hair in the shower with just one lather and no need for additional conditioning. I used this, followed up with my favorite leave-in conditioner, moisturized, stretched my hair and then went to bed. I woke up with clean, soft and springy coils. I think this 16-ounce size will last me about 10 washes, which is great. I recommend this for dry, curly, natural hair and for any person who wants to keep their routine simple. This is a great product if you work out frequently and want to keep your hair clean, but not stripped and dry." —Kindle Customer

    20. Scrub away dandruff and dullness with a shampoo brush — it'll gently deep-clean, exfoliate, and stimulate blood flow to your scalp to make sure every strand of hair gets the ultimate level of restoring treatment.

Promising review: "I’ve suffered with dry, flaking scalp for about a year now (pretty much started when I was pregnant and hadn’t gone away). I have used tea tree oil shampoo, dandruff shampoo, coconut oil, you name it. I finally read somewhere that exfoliating the scalp might help, but I was hesitant because years ago, I had a shampoo brush and it was very rigid, the bristles were fine and close together, and it made my hair a tangled mess. Anyway, I saw this shampoo brush and it looked a lot more flexible so I thought I’d give it a try and HOLY MOLY my flakes are gone! It’s made out of a silicone-type material and the little 'bristles' are flexible but still get the job done. I can literally brush my hair with shampoo in and it doesn’t get tangled. It’s amazing. Not only do I have zero flakes now, I feel like using this does a way better job at working the shampoo in and getting your hair and scalp really clean. I have super thick hair and no matter how much shampoo I use or how long I scrub my hair, I felt like the back, underneath part of my hair would sometimes stay dirty. This brush gets all that." —Meg R

Get it from Amazon for $7.98+ (available in two colors).

Promising review: "I have thick 4C hair and I love this set. I usually have the smaller odds at the ends of my hair and have the bigger rods at the top of my hair. My hair came out so curly. It really reminded me of the movie star curls, because it has been such a long time since I have seen my hair curl without having to use heat to it. " —Amazon Customer

Argan oil does it all: tames frizz, adds shine, and restores silky hair. You can even use it on your face to even out your skin tone!

Promising review: "I only got this argan oil last night, but when I woke up and saw the results in my hair overnight I had to review it. My hair has been DRY and lacking texture the last few years since I started dyeing it. This made me super sad, because I can remember how heathy and textured it used to be and no product could ever quite rejuvenate it back to its pre-salon days. I've emptied countless bottles of hair masks, deep conditioners, expensive oils, you name it. In just one use I am already so thrilled to see a glimpse what my hair used to look like. I can't wait to see the longterm results!" —Susie Muth

Get it from Amazon for $6.45.

It relinks broken bonds in hair to provide structural repair. TL;DR: your hair goes from stringy AF to shiny and new. #Science.

Promising review: "I was dealing with frizzy, dehydrated locks from a recent session with a stylist that did not use Olaplex throughout her processing. I waited to wash my hair after I received this product. It's ridiculous how great this product is. I could feel the softness as I was rinsing it out. I had soft and touchable locks with less brassy, cooler tones throughout. I am now only open to booking appointments with professionals who use Olaplex with their processes. I would rather pay a little extra than deal with the heartbreak of gummy ends and hair that feels and looks like straw." —AC

Get it from Amazon for $8.99 (available in four colors).

    27. Don't blow-dry your hair every day after working out (or even just showering). Instead, quickly style it into a braided bun that'll stay in place if your hair is still wet (but you can use a styling serum just in case).

Lauren Zaser / Justine Zwiebel / Via BuzzFeed Life

Very few are effective in doing so, however, this has done more than an amazing job. I even purchased it for my mother who has even thicker hair than I do and she loves it. I was able to use this to blow dry my hair which usually causes a lot of breakage and damage, but when I blow dry my hair with the oil, I barely had any breakage." —Georgina J.

Get it from Amazon for $18.99.

    Bek O' Connell / BuzzFeed

It's packed with protein, Ceramide 3, and collagen so it can work quickly to get your hair shiny and soft.

Promising review: "My hair used to be really shiny. Then I had purple hair for a year, followed by blue for six months. My stylist had to bleach the beejeebers out of my hair to remove all of the funky colors. Ever since, my hair has been dry, crispy, and definitely not shiny. This stuff really makes a difference! I used it maybe 10-14 days ago, and I just redid it tonight. After shampooing, I towel-dried my hair and then put a big blob throughout my long-ish hair and clipped it up. I left it on for quite a while, just puttering around and getting chores done. Then I rinsed it and my hair feels soft and looks much shinier. I will keep using this as long as I need to (it will take a few years to grow out all the damage while maintaining length). I'm really glad that I read that article and bought the product" —SHANNON FRASER

Get it from Amazon for $8.50.

However! John Frieda voluminous shampoo and conditioner is better for giving fine, straight hair more shape.

    Jenny Chang / BuzzFeed

Promising review (for the John Frieda shampoo and conditioner): "After finishing the whole container of this shampoo, I have to say WOW. My hair is noticeably fuller without being coarse or rough. It is soft, shiny, holds better, and seems healthy! I was paying a fortune for other products that initially worked, but would eventually weigh my hair down into coarse, stick-like cartoon hair. This shampoo does a much better job at a fraction of the price." —Lori
