Promising review: "What a perfect gadget for getting your phone clean. After touching who knows what while commuting to work, and it being that time of year everyone around you gets sick, this comes in handy. After the first use it looked great, and then I wiped it down with the sponge that came with it. I feel so much better about using my phone now." —Crystal Gardner

These come with a wireless charging case that provides up to 14 hours of charge (with the earbuds able to play for 4+ hours with each full charge). The earbuds are also sweatproof and waterproof so you can use them during workouts or runs, and have a built-in mic so you can chat on the phone. Psst — these are also a great option for going outside in a mask, since they don't have wires that'll get tangled in the mask straps.

Promising review: "The earbuds worked seamlessly and well out of the box. I use them while hiking the hills with my dogs and when working at my desk – I can still hear outside noises when needed for safety, but can listen to music without disturbing others. The earbuds are comfortable even during exercise, and they fit securely. Using the earbuds as a headset with my cell phone is easy as well. I do have to experiment with how they handle the Google assistant. The audio quality is at least stereo hi-fi, and the earbuds paired easily with both my phone and laptop. Wireless charging and having a large backup power source for the phone are terrific features." –Jawpar

Get it from Amazon $29.99 (available in five colors).

4. *Or* a pair of splurge-worthy pair of AirPods Pro with a wireless charging case to give them the gift of hands-free, noise-proof bliss. Once these toggle into "noise-cancelling" mode it's basically like the world disappeared.

Amazon

I have a pair of these, and they're not playing around. Once they're securely in your ear, you can toggle the headphones between noise-cancelling and regular sound, depending on your situation. I've been working from home, and the noise-cancelling is so effective that I can work next to a window where my neighbor is doing heavy construction and I don't hear anything louder than a faint buzzing. It's quieter than if I'd just plugged my ears with my own fingers. I'm also a runner, and these don't budge when you're sweating, which is nice. It's also handy that these toggle out of noise cancellation mode, because I feel better being able to hear traffic and other people around me when I'm out and about. The TL;DR is I love these so much I have zero interest in owning another pair of headphones for as long as I live.

Promising review: "Debated on spending the money for these. Finally just buckled down and got these and LOVE THEM. I love how I can open the case next to my iPhone and a picture pops up telling me about battery life. They were already hooked up to my phone — I didn't have to do anything (major plus for a non-techie like me). I've had zero issues with them cutting out. I typically use them when I'm mowing the lawn and listen to podcasts. When I have the noise cancellation on, I CAN'T HEAR THE MOWER. They're comfy, easy to put in, and I loooooooove not having the wire tethering me to the phone in my pocket when I'm trying to mow. No more getting tangled up when I grab the handle. Never cuts out. Sound is GREAT. (Chucked my Bose for these. Don't even miss them.)" —Traveler

Get it from Amazon for $199.98.

5. An LED dog collar that'll come especially in handy now that the sun is peace-ing out at 4 p.m. — this not only makes their dog more visible to cars and passerby, but will make it easy to find them if they go full "SQUIRREL!!" in the backyard and gallumph away.

The collar is also lightweight and USB rechargeable, giving five hours of illumination for one hour of charge.

Promising review: "My pit bull is all black and we walk 2 miles after I get home from work. Even though I carry a flashlight we have spooked many people on our evening walks. I thought this was the perfect solution. This collar is fantastic! It's bright enough for people to see her from a distance but not too bright that she is bothered by it. It has three settings, although I only use the solid light setting. I use a harness as well so I don't have to attach the leash to the collar. I also love that it's rechargeable and I don't have to mess with batter replacements. I also put this on her when we are visiting my sister and she is out in her much larger yard. I can see where she is and don't have to head out with a flashlight looking for her. I would definitely recommend and already have recommended this product to many other dog owners. Love it!" —Kristine Livingston

Get it from Amazon for $17.99 (available in six sizes and six colors).

6. A flexible universal tablet stand so they don't have to crane their neck or tire out their arms just to marathon reruns of Parks and Rec in peace.

I originally purchased it for a Christmas gift but couldn't wait to give it to him. Perfect for him!" —Deborah

7. A mug warmer to keep their coffee piping hot long after they brew it, so they can stop drinking it cold every time their morning slips into the time-space-caffeine continuum.

A cup of coffee warmed by a black circular mug warming platform underneath it
Amazon

Promising review: "I am currently working from home and I make tea at every hour of every day. I used to own a Mr. Coffee and had lost it during transition of moving so I HAD to get another one. I’m so glad that I did because now my tea stays warm throughout work. There is no adjustment to high and low but I prefer things simple. You just switch it on and it stays on. The plate gets pretty hot which makes my cup hot at the bottom. No issue for me because I don’t have children. I prefer warm tea over piping hot or freezing cold. This little device is my best friend and it’s great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves a 'just right' cup of anything." —Cecy R.

Get it from Amazon for $10.99.

8. A reliable wireless charging pad so convenient it will feel like they're living in a Smart House. Truly all they have to do is lay their phone or AirPods down on it, and boom, instant charging.

A model placing a phone down on a wireless black charging pad
Amazon

This little power bank can charge *deep breath*: the iPhone SE, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, Xs Max, XR, XS, X, 8, and 8 Plus; AirPods; and the Galaxy S20, S10, S9, S8, and Galaxy Note 10, 9, and 8.

Promising review: "I gave up on wireless charging years ago. Not reliable and super slow. This one seems to charge my mophie battery case faster than being plugged directly into the charger. How does that work? As long as you know where to place your phone it seems to charge fine. And the blue light is nice to show its charging. But for the price you can't go wrong. You could easily make something to hold this and your phone if you really wanted to. Long as you place it in the middle though it really is fine." —DJK

Get it from Amazon for $12.49.

9. A glare-free Kindle Paperwhite that not only can hold thousands of books, but will let them read the *chef's kiss* way they like best — they can customize it with all their favorite fonts and layouts, and organize their virtual shelves to their precise standards. Bonus — its charge lasts weeks (plural!!), and it's waterproof, so they can take this bb in the bathtub 🍷.

Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "I was very slow to the e-reader game; I am a voracious reader and thought I would not want to read from a screen, since I do that all day at my job. I purchased one after four weeks of 'stay home stay safe,' and had read everything in the house multiple times. The library has been closed for six weeks. I LOVE THIS THING. With a few customizations of layout and font, I may as well be reading from a book. With the Kindle Unlimited, I can choose from soooooo many books. I’ve had this thing for three days and I’ve read five books. Can’t believe I didn’t get one years ago." —Jess Mo

10. A dual-sided device cleaner with two sides — one with an antimicrobial-treated cleaning solution to clear off the grime, and another with a soft polishing buffer to make it gleam.

youtube.com

One side dispenses a cleaning solution that kills bacteria, and the other side polishes the surface off so it looks nice and shiny.

Promising review: "Saw a friend at work using this; she showed me and I had to have one. I wasn't disappointed. Gets all the gunk off my phone, iPad, computer screens, and my kids' Kindles. Getting these for gifts this year. Awesome." —kevin

Get it from Amazon for $14.95.

11. A sleek rechargeable electric lighter your candle-loving friend can use to replace all their old gas ones. This one is not only chic as heck, but completely flameless, and made with a long stem so they can use it to light gas burners and larger candles.

Emma Lord/BuzzFeed, Amazon

This also comes in other pretty colors, but I am especially partial to this one because I bought it for my parents (their kitchen is entirely pink and one of my favorite places on Earth), and this was SO EASY to use — not to mention super safe! I'm a big weenie about fire (LOL, self-preservation) so I've always stuck to extended arm gas lighters, but this is much better for the environment (plus cuter), so I feel a lot better about using it.

Promising review: "Wow. This thing is amazing. Small and so easy to use. My husband kept saying it won’t actually light anything and was blown away when it did. We lit candles and paper to use as tinder with absolutely no effort. No fuel needed. Just a quick recharging. And no waste in throwing away those huge and never easy to use butane sticks. Love love it. Easy buying process so I would recommend everyone buy one." —Diane Bold

Get it from Amazon for $12.99 (available in five colors).

12. A sleek, swim-proof Fitbit Versa 2 so well-equipped it can track preeeeetty much anything they throw at it, from running to swimming to sleeping to their heart rate and pace. They can also sync it with their Alexa to get quick news and weather updates, set alarms, and control smart home devices.

Amazon

Oh, plus!! They can access their Spotify account from it for bops on BOPS. Each watch also comes with a 90-day free trial of the Fitbit Premium, which will help them manage stress, stay active, and get the best sleep.

Promising review: "Very happy with this smart watch/fitness tracker. If you are looking for a fitness tracker that has incredible battery life, a fantastic app, and sleep tracking there is no better product on the market. I think it is nice that it also includes some of the essential smart watch features like messages on your wrist and connectivity to control Spotify. The Alexa integration is also a nice bonus feature. However, if you are more interested in smart watch features and care less about fitness tracking then maybe the Apple Watch is a better choice for you. I actually have an Apple Watch and prefer to wear the Fitbit because I think Fitbit really nailed the features that are important to me - fitness, battery life, sleep tracking, messages on wrist. Everything else I can handle on my phone but it is nice that the features I care about are done so well on this watch. Also, it is really comfortable to wear. I never take it off. One other feature that I think is important is the always on heart rate monitor. The Apple Watch only measures your heart rate every 10 minutes when you are not in a workout. I like having the always on tracking during the day so I can quick glance at what my heart rate is doing. As far as I know, you can not do this with the Apple Watch; you would need to open up the heart rate app on the watch to get a read. Just another reason why I think this Fitbit is better for my lifestyle. It does the stuff I care about well rather than doing everything mediocre like the Apple Watch. Just my opinion..." —FullSpeedWD

Get it from Amazon for $179.95 (available in six band colors)

13. A compact milk frother to make their midmorning cuppa taste like it was lovingly handcrafted by a barista.

A black handheld frother propped next to a frothed cup of coffee
amazon.com

Plus, it's teensy for storing and cleans with a quick stream of hot running water! We love a convenient appliance!!

Promising review: "I’m a barista at Starbucks so obviously I know how I like my coffee. For a while I was using an immersion blender to froth my milk for my morning cup of coffee but it just wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do. I finally bought this frother and I’m so so happy with it!! It doesn’t need to be plugged in so it takes up way less space. It is a lot quieter than the blender, and I can use any size cup I want because the frother is so small. Not only can I heat up my milk for a hot coffee, but I can also use it just the same with cold milk for my iced coffee!! Highly recommend this product!!" —Heather Michael

Get it from Amazon for $13.95 (available in 10 colors).

14. A toilet night-light so they can navigate to the bathroom without stubbing their toe on 86 things or turning on the overhead light and confusing their poor brain into thinking it's daytime.

A toilet glowing blue
Amazon

This LED toilet light has 16 colors that can work on a rotation or as a solid color.

Promising review: "This seemingly silly little gadget has turned out to be great! The light level (brightness) can be dimmed down if desired, and the color can be set to whatever you want, but the bottom line is that you don't need to turn on a bright overhead light (which wakes me up and makes me angry, not a good combination) when you need to go into the bathroom at night. Cleaning it is a breeze, too; what seems like it's going to be a problem...isn't. I can't recommend this toilet night light highly enough, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Could be on the gift list this December." —Lee R. Gurr

Get it from Amazon for $9.99.

Promising review: "I LOVE THESE HEADBAND HEADPHONES! Why did I not invent this myself? This is exactly what I was looking for to use for meditation while I sleep. This item is soft, lightweight and perfect for the side sleeper. The flat earphones are just what I needed to get a more relaxed good night sleep. I haven't used them until the battery ran down, but I have used them for at least 9 hours at a time. What more can I say. BUY IT! You won't be sorry!" —PB

16. An iRobot Roomba 675, because you know what? We all deserve to have a vacuum that knows us better than we know ourselves, and this one is it. iRobot

Plus — be still my robot-loving heart — it uses Dirt Detect Sensors to figure out which areas of their home are more highly-trafficked, and clean them more thoroughly.

Promising review: "I didn't have super high expectations, because we do not have a Roomba friendly house. We have lots of small carpets with tassels, things out on the floors (like music and workout equipment for our jobs), and small awkwardly shapes (ie not square) spaces. I'm honestly blown away. I've used it twice and it navigates over/around objects so accurately, gets under furniture, does not pull weaving out of my cotton and jute woven rugs, and has only gotten caught on a tassel or cord once. My cat caught a bird and it got up all the feathers- amazing! It does miss things here and there, so it's not going to replace 100% of regular vacuuming, but it's going to cut down our in-person vacuums by A LOT. it is kind of loud, though. About as loud as the AC unit for reference, so I can't use it if I'm on a zoom call. All told though, wow." —MH

Get it from iRobot for $274.99.

17. A rechargeable hand warmer complete with double-sided heat and three different heat settings they can adjust to their environment, whether it's "walking in a winter wonderland" or "everyone in this house is deeply divided on what a regular human temperature is, MOM."

Amazon

Psst — this is USB rechargeable, and you can even use a power bank or your phone to charge it!

Promising review: "This hand warmer is amazing! My hands are constantly cold and I've tried all sorts of products to help keep them warm but nothing has worked until now. I charge the hand warmer every night with a standard USB charger and the next day, I have hours of warmth. The three temperature settings are very helpful — I use the highest setting when I'm outdoors for long periods of time and the lower settings when I'm indoors (e.g. sitting at my desk or in a cold movie theater). I've already given hand warmers as gifts to several cold-handed friends and family members and they're loving it as well. I hope Ocoopa comes out with a foot warmer next!" —Riva Kupritz

18. A pair of glowing light saber chopsticks to bring balance to the Force *and* to their sushi — whether they're repping the dark side or the light.

Emma Lord / BuzzFeed, Amazon

Sometimes I just keep them in my work area to light them up during the day to feel fancy. They toggle back and forth between a bunch of different colors, like red, blue, yellow, purple, and multicolor, so you can either make them match *or* have a red and blue one together and bring ~balance~ to the Force.

Promising review: "I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He uses chopsticks to eat things other than Chinese, so thought these would be a good stocking stuffer. Promising review: "The television is wonderful. It is exactly what we wanted. It is in a room where it is the focal point of the room and we really wanted the ART MODE. We have now had time to explore the ART STORE and it is wonderful! Easy to use and we found so many artworks that we love to display. The television itself is very high quality picture and good sound. We used our own mounting bracket so I can't comment on the bracket that comes with the television. We used our own because we wanted one that was recessed into the wall (so the television is flush) but pulls out to swivel and pivot. I especially like the ART MODE." —Skip

A sunrise alarm clock in three stages of lighting up from dim to brighter to brightest over the course of a half hour
Amazon

You can sync this alarm clock with an app on your phone (or with an Alexa or Google Home), and it will gradually brighten the room with red-tinted light designed to fight grogginess in the minutes leading up to your wakeup. By the time your alarm goes off, your eyes will have already adjusted to the "daylight," so you won't be as tempted to hit snooze. It also has customizable sounds to wake you up, like "Hawaiian waves."

Promising review: "I got this alarm clock about a month ago and it's pretty great! With COVID-19, getting out of bed had been getting harder and harder to do. I purchased this alarm clock to help with those slow, dreadful mornings. There are a variety of different ring tones I prefer the two different piano options, one for my weekday wake up time and one for my weekend wake up time. If nothing else, I can tell roughly which day of the week it is based on what song is playing. As of writing this review, the west coast is currently blanketed in smoke and weird lighting. Right now, getting a 'proper sunrise' is iffy at best. The gradual increase of lighting from this alarm clock is wonderful for getting some semblance of normality. I sometimes wake up before the alarm goes off (by a minute or two) because my body is so convinced the sun is actually rising. The interface is also quite straightforward and, with the help of the instruction manual, it is easy to set up the alarms that you want. The only downside is that I can't get the wifi symbol to stop blinking. I don't want to attach it to wifi/download the app, so I have put a sticker over the blinking light. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase." —Andrea Harper

Anyway, these set up wayyyy too easily. I use them for all my downstairs lights. It was so simple getting them set up in the SmartLife app and then Amazon automatically detected every plug once I enabled the SmartLife skill! Everything is age appropriate and I don't have to worry about her getting into the internet. There are also audio books. She loves Junie B. Jones and already knew about her books from kindergarten. I would highly recommend this. Now that we are in quarantine, I can also download her school programs and she is not taking up my laptop or phone." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "After much research and returning numerous brands that made claims that were simply untrue I found this Hercules Tuff product. I was so impressed I did a quick YouTube video. Basically this product does everything the others claim to do but DON’T! It’s rapid charge. It comes with cables. It won’t scratch a surface. It will charge multiple devices brilliantly. It has an ON /OFF switch, many don’t have this basic want. The dividers are sturdy, solid, won’t move when you pull out ur device and actually hold your device. This is it. I would def recommend." —Chris P.

33. An Instant Pot pressure cooker with a built! in! air fryer!! In total, that means this appliance can do the work of eleven appliances in one. The question is less what can they make in it and more what *can't* they?

Amazon

This 8-quart Instant Pot can pressure cook, sauté, steam, slow cook, cook sous vide, warm, air fry, roast, bake, broil, *and* dehydrate.

Promising review: "What else can you say about this product? It will replace three appliances that I use on a regular basis- rice cooker, air fryer, and pressure cooker. That's important to me because at this point kitchen space is at a premium. The packaging is great, the instructions are very clear and well written and it works very well. The first use was to make chicken bone broth using the pressure cooker feature. It worked flawlessly. Two hour cook time. 10 min prep, 30 min to cool off. Three hours later I had homemade bone broth in the refrigerator. And the whole house didn't smell for 24 hours like it would with an open pot method. Anyway, the instant pot is a huge kitchen innovation IMO. Just get one, and use it!" —John Gaynard

35. A see-through toaster so they can watch their toast get to their *precise* level of preferred toastiness and finally have the kind of breakfast they deserve. Sorry, Netflix. This is their new TV.

Amazon

Promising review: "I LOVE THIS TOASTER! It makes great toast. I can’t believe that I’ve gotten so excited over a toaster. I haven’t been able to find a durable, reasonably priced toaster that could accommodate long slices or bagels, etc. Additionally, I have had to be gluten-free for the last 10 years and gluten-free bread has to be carefully toasted in order to be good. All the toasters I have ever owned had those fragile, thin wires that heat up and glow to toast the bread. And when they broke, which they inevitably did, the bread toasted unevenly. THIS TOASTER has unique coils in the bottom, so that you would expect unevenly toasted bread. BUT NO! It’s the most perfectly toasted bread I’ve had in 30 years." —Byron Trist

36. A selfie ring light for all their video calls, so they can trick their friends or coworkers into thinking they live inside a beautifully-lit Instagram apartment instead of a snack dungeon.

You can either use this with your phone mounted just under the light for FaceTime, or if you're calling or filming from a laptop, you can set up the tripod or the light on your desk behind the screen. Boom, fancy lighting.

Promising review: "This ring light is amazing! I already have an earlier version of this company's ring light and am absolutely in love with the quality of the lighting it provides. But this larger ring light with tripod stand blows away every other lighting product I've ever used! The cord is a USB cord, so it can plug into any USB outlet: wall, computer, vehicle. The control switch is very easy to navigate, as well, allowing you to adjust the lighting to your exact needs. My favorite setting is the yellow warm light because it helps mask facial imperfections, evening out your skin tone. The best thing about this ring light is how it makes every photo and video look more professional. This ring light does not disappoint. This is BY FAR the best-quality ring light I've ever seen! If you're shopping around for a superior ring light and you really want to get your money's worth, hurry up and grab this one before they're all gone! There's still time to get it before the holidays! I promise you will LOVE this ring light as much as I do! This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves taking pictures and videos! Get yours TODAY before they're all gone!" —ANGELA ANAYA

Promising review: "I've been playing around with this gun for a while, and wanted to leave a review based on my experience with this one and a few others. For the price, this is a great buy. It's got a few things going for it which I like: It's VERY quiet; very easy to switch speeds, there's a button right by your index, useful when you want to find the right speed for whatever part you're working on; It gets to be pretty powerful, much more than what you'll need most times; It's light and has a great grip, so I don't get tired working on someone with this for a while. I'd recommend this gun for the price, it's a solid buy. Quick customer service too, I had a question answered within a couple of hours so that's a plus." —Artem

Promising review: "I got this mic after watching other reviews between this and the Blue Yeti. I have a noisy environment so I needed to use a digital mixing program to dial in my settings, but once I got it down, I have been super happy with the results. Out of the box when everything was quiet, the mic alone had great quality. I recommend this mic if you are just starting out, or even just looking for a good quality mic for your setup. The construction is very nice and solid and doesn't look or feel cheap at all. The built on mute button is really nice as well. It has a built-in mic input so you can hear in real time what you sound like if you plug in headphones with a standard connection. Would buy again if I was looking for a microphone." —PC Guy

Promising review: "My 7-year-old son absolutely loves this toy. He showed it to his 8- and 10-year-old stepsisters who also loved it. All three of them played with it until it died. It was cute watching them try to keep it from hitting the ground (when you put your hand underneath it, it will fly back upwards) and hearing their laughter was priceless. I'm going to start buying these as small stocking stuffer type gifts for the rest of the kids in our family as well as birthday parties. I was also surprised it didn't break because it took a beating from running into walls and such. It also sparked my son's curiosity...he wanted to know how it worked so it quickly turned into a STEM type lesson...You won't regret this purchase...we loved it!" —Jordan Hebert
