    1. A set of two ~zero gravity~ reclining porch chairs complete with a pillow *and* a side table to stash drinks, phones, and books. They also fold quickly and compactly so you can take them wherever, and are made with a heat-resistant mesh so you won't scorch your unsuspecting legs whenever you park your bum in it.

Two models in black recliners with objects in their drink holders

Promising review: "We realized pretty quickly that with everyone home because of the 2020 quarantine, we would need more spaces to hang out in. I found this set of chairs and put the order in as a temporary measure until we found a patio set that suits the space better. These are perfect though. I can't really see replacing them anytime soon. They are comfortable, and the little attached tables are really handy! I usually have hot tea, water, a phone, and either a book or my Kindle in my immediate area. This tiny attachment made it so I don't even have to worry about where to put everything. The seat is an excellent place to spend some time watching the birds or reading in the afternoons. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase." β€”Brandy Morgan

Get a set of two from Amazon for $99 (available in seven colors).

    2. A durable, waterproof Bluetooth speaker so you can have some tunes for socially-distanced picnics, outdoor workouts, or hanging out on the porch without worrying about frying its wires in the rain.

    A black triangle-shaped Bluetooth speaker

This also easily connects to smart devices like Alexa and Google Home, if you want to listen to the news or certain playlists outside while your devices stay indoors!

Promising review: "Amazing for the price! My $100+ speaker's charger port would no longer hold the charger so I was in the market for a new portable speaker. I don't use it much but have been enjoying outdoor workouts doing the quarantine. I wanted a speaker that worked well but wasn't too expensive. I am SO happy with this purchase. The sound quality and connectivity are excellent and the price is great. My more expensive speaker might have been a hair better as there was more speaker surface area, however the difference is minimal. Awesome speaker for a budget." β€”Halestorm

Get it from Amazon for $25.99+ (available in seven colors).

    3. A Wi-Fi-connected movie projector that easily converts any wall, both indoor and outdoor, into a personal theater. Once you sync it with a device like your phone or laptop, you can use it to project your fave Disney movies, at-home workouts, and even to play video games outside after the sun goes down.,

Promising review: "This projector has been an amazing addition to our quarantine life at home. Who needs the movies when you have this. The volume is actually really good and the Wi-Fi is helpful. We hook up our Direct TV, Fire Stick, etc, and it all works great with great picture! We’ve been having a blast moving the movies home." β€”Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $164.74.

    4. A multipurpose, super adaptable pool float you can turn into a lounger, a chair, a drifter, or an exercise saddle for socially-distanced pool hangs and workouts.

Model showing four ways to use the float, which is set up like a floating hammock

Promising review: "Many ways to use this great float! Due to COVID-19, our pool is not allowing lounge chairs unless you bring your own. I'd rather tug a float around, and this one is so easy to store and fold up. Also it’s easier to use versus the standard floaty." β€”Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $12.56 (available in 17 colors).

    5. A waterproof and portable inflatable lounger so easy to use that it'll feel like you found a cheat code for life β€” you literally just hold onto it and snap it into the air, letting the wind fill it up. Boom, instant cozy chair in any socially-distanced spot you can find.

It only weighs 2 pounds and fits neatly into a bag when you let the air back out of it, and once it's inflated, it has a head rest and a side pocket for stashing things like glasses and your phone. Perhaps most importantly for larger fams β€” it comes in a *ton* of different colors, so everyone will always know which one is "theirs."

Promising review: "We were wonderfully surprised how comfortable and easy to inflate these chairs were. After buying the first one and having our kids fight over it, we decided to go back and buy three more, so everyone in the family could lounge in comfort. They fold up small enough to where you can comfortably carry all four in a small shopping bag or tote. They can be inflated by just holding them in the direction of the wind on a brisk day or by running around in a big circle on a calm day. They have been a lifesaver during the stay at home/quarantine period this spring. We haven't tried them on water yet, but they claim to function as rafts as well. We're looking forward to using them during our next beach trip." β€”Amazon Customer

*Another* promising review: "I purchased this for a 6-year old to play on during rainy quarantine days and it has exceeded expectations. While we occasionally use it for lounging, it also doubles as a (pretend) pirate ship, white water raft, space shuttle, quicksand pit and swamp monster. It also serves as a slide, seesaw, and wrestling opponent for a 50 lb kid without having to reinflate. I realize these are all off-label uses of the chair, but after 10 weeks stuck in the house with this kid, we're desperate. I used a hair dryer (set to cool) to quickly inflate this indoors versus flapping myself to death like an idiot. The static electricity generated from the material is also great for collecting dog hair, so I count this as a discount Roomba." β€”Anna V.

Get it from Amazon for $40.98+ (available in 14 colors).

    6. A "sport-brella," which is an SPF 50+ maneuverable personal umbrella with a universal clamp that'll latch onto any chair you own. Boom, instant shade no matter where you've parked your human self, whether it's the porch, the beach, or the park.,

Psst β€” a lot of reviewers swear by this for easy hands-free shade solutions for strollers and wheelchairs as well!

Promising review: "I originally bought this about three years ago and my husband used it and liked it so much recently with all the 'COVID driveway happy hours' he bought an additional one for him. It is easy to maneuver and angle to block the sun, but non-intrusive. It is easy to fold and replace in the carrying case. It is worth every penny." β€”Sarah B.

Get it from Amazon for $19.99 (available in two sizes and eight colors).

    7. An insulated cooler backpack, so now you can pack all your various picnic cheeses and charcuteries without one of your shoulders disproportionately hauling all of the goodness. It even comes with an attached bottle opener, y'all.

Aside from the large storage compartment and bottle opener, this bb has two mesh side pockets, a large front pocket with a divider for utensils, an extra inside mesh pocket on the lid for extra storage, and to D-shaped hooks to attach it.

Promising review: "Use frequently for picnics and hikes. Got it because we are hiking in less populated areas due to COVID. This is the best 'portable' picnic cooler we have ever had." β€”Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $29.99 (available in three colors).

    8. A scent-free, cordless Thermacell mosquito-repelling shield that claims to be six times more effective than 42 (!!) citronella candles at keeping the pesky critters off your back porch and yard. It generates heat to disperse deterrent from a repellent mat, which gives a 15 feet worth of protection for 12 hours β€” all without a trace of DEET.

A small green cylinder-shaped Thermacell on a table

Promising review: "Our house is surrounded by trees so we have a ton of mosquitoes. Hated sitting out on my deck for that reason until we got the Thermacell. Just used it tonight for a 6-foot COVID-friendly gathering outdoors and on opposite ends of the table with friends. This thing worked like a charm. I still can't get over it. I'm happy I discovered it and yet kicking myself for not knowing sooner. I've fallen in love with my back deck again. Suck it mosquitoes!" β€”Isaac Datlof

Get it from Amazon for 19.97+ (available in two colors).

    9. A highly popular lightweight, durable hammock for lazy afternoons reading in the backyard or a clever, cozy lounging solution on hiking and camping trips. It's made of soft parachute nylon that is not only super strong, but can pack down to the size of a grapefruit for easy storage.

Model in a black hammock supported by two trees

Promising review: "SUPER happy with the styling, quality and how compact it is when in the storage bag. This will be coming with us on all kinds of trips. There's never a worry the hammock won't hold my weight, and it's made my time in quarantine in my backyard that much nicer. After seeing how amazing this was, we bought three more! HIGHLY recommended." β€”Chris

Get it from Amazon for $27.97+ (available in two sizes and 13 colors).

    10. A handy hydration pack for walkers and runners who have turned "outside" into their gym. This has a super durable, leakproof water bladder on the inside attached to a nozzle you can drink from, plus lil' pockets to stash keys and mid-walk snacks.

Model running with a blue hydration backpack

Promising review: "These hydration packs are awesome! My wife and I each purchased one as we have both taken to either walking or running daily since COVID struck. These help us get in a long route while enduring the Texas heat. They are comfortable and light on the back, and the bladders are durable. I wish the zippers were a little more heavy duty, but that’s a minor nit. All in all, it’s a great little pack!" β€”Robert D. Motion

Get it from Amazon for $21.98 (available in five colors).

    11. A UV-blocking canopy shade you can easily install on an uncovered porch to keep things from getting too toasty for you and your furriest friends.

A beige canopy shade over a small outdoor porch

The canopy is super flexible and can be pulled taut so you can install it to fit your specific space β€”Β you just need four places to mount each corner, like roofs, walls, trees, or poles, but they don't have to be level to each other.

Promising review: "I waited more than 18 months to write this review because I wanted to see how well this held up in a California coastal town with unrelenting sunshine (yay drought year?). It is shading outside my roommate's western bedroom window, providing filtered light for some plants, shade for our dogs when they go out to play and pee, and protect my hydrophobic dog from the rare rain. So far, so good! In fact, so good that I bought a second one to extend my patio cover during quarantine and I'm about to buy a third because I bought a full sun baby tree not realizing it needs less sun during the first couple of years." β€”Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $39.99+ (available in three colors and nine sizes).

    12. A set of soft, workout-friendly Reebok face masks for anyone who has been running in the summer heat.

    Reebok, Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

I ordered two packs of these on a whim, and WOW, do I love them. Despite the shipping time they actually arrived in two days, and I think they're my favorite running mask so far. The material is protective but lightweight, with sort of a wetsuit feel. It stays locked in place while I'm running, even though I sweat buckets in the heat. The seams are so subtle that they don't irritate my face. Also, I feel really cool wearing them, which is saying something, because I am the least cool person I know. Note: I got the M/L size and tied the elastic straps for a tighter fit; XS/S seems more geared at kids and people with smaller faces.

Promising review: "This is an awesome workout mask!! Very breathable material with a pocket for adding a filter. By far the best fitness mask I’ve purchased so far. I highly recommend purchasing this for serious fitness advocates." β€”DAKOTA86SW

Type Of Fit: Elastic ear straps

    Pocket For Filter: Yes

Fabric Type: Recycled Polyester & Elastane

Shipping Time: Expected to ship in 6-7 business days

    13. A chic, statement-making visor you can throw on to prevent face mask tan lines in the moments when your sunscreen might not be cutting it (and you don't want to smush your hair).

A model in a black visor with a long bill that shades their face

Promising review: "I wanted something that can cover my face, when most of the time I'm wearing a COVID-19 mask and don't want to get half/tan. But also I don't like too much sun on my face, wearing contacts gets to be too much. My main issue was when I'm riding a bicycle how to cover my face, and not to be blown away by the wind. This visor has it all. It's cute. I feel like I'm in my own little shady world, and doesn't ruin my hair. Velcro adjust on the back and you get flexible rope to fasten it under your chin. Glasses or sunglasses fit easy. I love it!" β€”Marinchich

Get it from Amazon for $17.99 (available in four colors).

    14. Or a waterproof sun hat with a wide brim to keep your cheeks out of the sun now that a lot of us are out power-walking and running instead of going to the gym (anyone got any podcast recs??).

    Reviewer in gray wide-brimmed hat

It also has an adjustable chin strap at the bottom so you can lock it in place if it's particularly windy!

Promising review: "This is an excellent product to use when you have to be out in the sun!! With COVID, since I cannot go to the gym, I walk outside, but the sun can be brutal! This hat helps a lot!" β€”Twila

Get it from Amazon for $13.99 (available in six colors).

    15. A hands-free portable neck fan you can charge with a USB, because sometimes you're just not going to be able to avoid walking out in the heat in a face mask, and this is an easy way to stay cool.

Models using the fan propped up on a desk, around their neck on a hike, and around their neck on a walk

It has three speeds to choose from and also lights up, making you more visible at night. Reviewers note that you should definitely put your hair in a ponytail (but that it's easy to unsnag if it gets caught).

Promising review: "I went to Florida on a work trip to review the new safety guidelines at Disney and Universal Studios. I purchased this exact brand for my family, and other coworkers chose very similar-looking products but not from the same manufacturer. Mine lasted all day at the theme parks, while my coworker's died pretty quickly. This made wearing a mask very bearable in the Florida heat. I bought several other best selling self-cooling items, and this one was by far the only one worth any money. I thought it would be a comical purchase, but it ended up being a lifesaver. I am adding it to my 'must-have' list for hot vacations." β€”Jay

Get it from Amazon for $17.95 (available in two colors).

    16. A water-resistant, durable picnic blanket designed to be *super* easy to clean, with a fabric that lets you easily brush off crumbs, dirt, and sand. Reviewers also mention how soft and comfy it is, and how nicely if rolls up to take on the go., Amazon

So a bunch of kids in my neighborhood have been doing this since quarantine started and leaving these rocks on the path in the woods behind the houses, and it makes my human day every time I see them. They keep swapping them out every few weeks and inviting other people to leave their own, and it's become this very sweet, socially-distanced pick-me-up for everyone in the area.

Each kit comes with 10 rocks, eight colors of waterproof paint, a paint brush, rock transfer designs, and tracking stickers.

Promising review: "This is the cutest thing to come out of quarantine. I made the most adorable lady bug, and now I have a weird emotional attachment to her. I might be in love with a rock that I painted. Her name is Daisy, I tell her about my day when anything happens. Like when someone walks past my house on their daily walk or when they gave me the wrong drink at Dunkin Donuts but I didn't say anything because essential workers are trying their best and I would never want to blame or upset them. She is a great listener. Luv u Daisy <3" β€”Cindy Mackey

The chair stores easily in the back of the coat closet. We both find it comfortable. It does take two of us to get it back in its storage sack; however, our 50-year-old son repacks it easily." β€”Lee

It was very precious. I am not crying, there is just street chalk and the relentless creativity of adorable children stuck in my eye.

Promising review: "The chalk was sent to our grandkids in Michigan. We are trying to send items to help them enjoy quarantine a bit better. The five of them used the chalk to decorate their entire sidewalk up to their front door by making a giant mural. They sent us a great video of the finished product. Delightful!
