This also comes in other pretty colors, but I am especially partial to this one because I bought it for my parents (their kitchen is entirely pink and one of my favorite places on Earth), and this was SO EASY to use — not to mention super safe! I'm a big weenie about fire (lol, self-preservation) so I've always stuck to extended arm gas lighters, but this is much better for the environment (plus cuter), so I feel a lot better about using it.

Promising review: "Wow. This thing is amazing. Small and so easy to use. My husband kept saying it won’t actually light anything and was blown away when it did. We lit candles and paper to use as tinder with absolutely no effort. No fuel needed. Just a quick recharging. And no waste in throwing away those huge and never easy to use butane sticks. Love love it. Easy buying process so I would recommend everyone buy one." —Diane Bold

    amazon.com

Promising review: "I work around the house a lot and things get loud, so it's hard to hear music from my phone. I received The Child (Baby Yoda/Grogu) Bitty Boomer for Christmas and it has really great sound. Thinking of getting one more to set up in my kitchen for deluxe sound. Looks cute, easy to use and works really well." —Winter Drake

    3. A pocket-sized wine aerator that'll save you oodles of time on Friday wine-and-cheese night — instead of letting your glass chill out before drinking it, you can toggle this gizmo to one of three modes (red, white, or port) and get the most of your wine's fully-aerated flavor in 45 seconds or less.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I bought one for myself and really noticed the difference in the taste of wine, especially red wine that had been opened at a previous time. I then decided to give them as gifts to my wine-drinking friends. It's compact and so easy to use. I like the timing device set for white, red, or port wine." —MLV

A model sleeping with the headphone band around their ears
    Amazon

Promising review: "I love this headband. The band is comfortable in the head. Super easy to set up and connect to your phone, even on iPhones. The earphone can easily be adjusted and place right by your ears. Charging port is located on the rear end of the headband but you wouldn't even feel it existing. The sound quality is good. And the controls are very satisfying to press. I'm in with love this headband!" —Nico

    Amazon

CozyPhones is a Virginia-based, veteran-owned family business established in 2015 that specializes in comfortable, accessible headphones for children.

Promising review: "Comfortable, easy to use and overall a great product! I bought three of these for a 3-, 6- and 7-year-old to wear on a flight, for use with their Kindles. They fit their heads snug, but were not too tight. You can adjust the speaker inside the headband easily to fit over their ears. The kids wore them for about two hours, and even pulled them over their eyes to snooze! Great product, excellent quality, and highly portable without taking up much room! I'd highly recommend these for kids over 3!" —Rihcampoop

Get it from Amazon for $15.97+ (available in five styles).

    6. A pretty pastel mug warmer that'll keep your coffee at the optimum temperature long after you brew it, because for some reason coffee slips into the time-space-WFH continuum when you're drinking it from your couch.

A blue mug warmer on a desk with a mug of coffee on it
    Amazon

I got the pink one of these for my mom for Christmas (her entire kitchen is pink, it is a Big Mood) and can confirm it is QUITE beautiful in person.

Promising review: "Easy to use. I have purchased cheaper coffee mug warmers in the past but this one tops them all. The cheaper ones are made of plastic and always worried me about getting too hot or accidentally leaving them on. This one is metal. The cheaper ones were also not wide enough on the heating element pad for some of my larger cups. This one is. Nice colored controls letting you know which of the three heat ranges to have it set for. It automatically turns off in four hours which is why I also decided to buy it. Even after it turns off manually or automatically, the heat color light changes to let you know that the pad is still hot. I like it so much I have purchased three more for Christmas gifts for my grown kids." —Gatlin

Get it from Amazon for $24.99+ (available in six colors).

    7. A set of affordable, highly popular (seriously, these have over 130,000 popular reviews) wireless Bluetooth earbuds so you can multi-task to your heart's content, whether it's listening to spooky podcasts while you clean, chatting with your BFF on a walk around the neighborhood, or doing an at-home workout without waking up all your roomies.

    amazon.com

These come with a wireless charging case that provides up to 14 hours of charge (with the earbuds able to play for 4+ hours with each full charge). The earbuds are also sweatproof and waterproof so you can use them in the shower or during workouts or runs, and have a built-in mic so you can chat on the phone. Psst — these are also a great option for going outside in a mask, since it doesn't have wires that'll get tangled in the mask straps.

Promising review: "The earbuds worked seamlessly and well out of the box. I use them while hiking the hills with my dogs and when working at my desk – I can still hear outside noises when needed for safety, but can listen to music without disturbing others. The earbuds are comfortable even during exercise, and they fit securely. Using the earbuds as a headset with my cell phone is easy as well. I do have to experiment with how they handle the Google assistant. The audio quality is at least stereo hi-fi, and the earbuds paired easily with both my phone and laptop. Wireless charging and having a large backup power source for the phone are terrific features." –Jawpar

Get it from Amazon $29.99 (available in five colors).

    8. Or a splurge-worthy pair of AirPods Pro with a wireless charging case to give yourself the gift of hands-free, noise-proof bliss, without any of the complicated setup. Your iPhone will automatically detect the new AirPod Pro earbuds, and work you through setup to get the perfect fit and sound right on the spot.

    Amazon

I have a pair of these, and they're not playing around. Once they're securely in your ear, you can toggle the headphones between noise-cancelling and regular sound, depending on your situation. I've been working from home, and the noise-cancelling is so effective that I can work next to a window where my neighbor is doing heavy construction and I don't hear anything louder than a faint buzzing. It's quieter than if I'd just plugged my ears with my own fingers. I'm also a runner, and these don't budge when you're sweating, which is nice. It's also handy that these toggle out of noise cancellation mode, because I feel better being able to hear traffic and other people around me when I'm out and about. The TL;DR is I love these so much I have zero interest in owning another pair of headphones for as long as I live.

Promising review: "Great earbuds! The integration with my iPhone and Apple Watch makes it well worth the investment. Super easy to use, and so far the battery life has been solid. Noise cancellation is top notch. Love the ability to change from transparent mode and noise cancellation with a touch and hold of either earbud, instead of having to take the earbuds out every time someone wants to chat. Audio quality is very good, but not 'blow you away' spectacular. This is coming from someone who uses Shure 846 earphones every week, so maybe I’m a bit spoiled on audio quality." —Jordan Whitfield

Get it from Amazon for $189.99.

    9. An app-enabled 42-page Rocketbook Fusion reusable notebook to cut down on paper waste and keep you efficient and organized no matter what your style happens to be. This notebook includes lined and grid pages in addition to planner, calendar, and brainstorming pages, so it pretty much covers any of your needs.

A model writing in the planner page of a Rocket notebook
    Amazon

It works the same way all their products do — you can write on its pages the way you would a regular notebook, upload the page onto your devices, and wipe the notebook clean with water to use all over again.

Promising review: "I love my Rocketbook! I'm a college student who readily takes 8-12 pages of notes in each of my six classes, and this book is just what I needed to stop carrying around several 2-inch binders loaded with paper! The book is sturdy and stands up well to being crammed in a backpack with textbooks and lab gear, with a hard cover and sturdy spiral design. The app allows you to pick the destinations for your scans when uploading your notes or figures. But it also lets you search by key terms to find notes about specific topics! The clearer your handwriting is, the better, but I don't have the most neat writing myself and I have no issue using the search function. The Frixion pens are also wonderful to write with – just make sure you give them the 10-15 seconds to dry before flipping the page to avoid smudges. And if you do smudge it's okay, because you can quickly erase and rewrite any mistakes. Wiping the pages clean after I'm done uploading is also very easy, and gives me a chance for one last review of my notes. Just use the included towel and a little water and it looks brand new! And now for the best part – environmental consciousness! This book has already saved me from going through REAMS of paper in the month that I've been using it. I also didn't have to buy the binders and dividers that go along with my old organizational style. Every little act of sustainability helps, and the Rocketbook's reusability makes it a much more impactful buy. Get this notebook!" –Amazon Customer

    10. A compact milk frother to make your midmorning cuppa taste like it was lovingly handcrafted by a barista.

A black handheld frother propped next to a frothed cup of coffee
    amazon.com

Plus, it's teensy for storing and cleans with a quick stream of hot running water! We love a convenient appliance!!

Promising review: "I wanted a hand frother that would be light, quick, easy to use, and something that I could easily hide away in my minimalist kitchen. This battery powered frothed fits that bill and we are so impressed. It takes two AA batteries, which were super simple to install. The frother works perfectly for single or double serve drinks, and creates a perfect froth in SECONDS! The motor isn’t too powerful, but powerful enough to mix liquids in depths of up to about 5/6 inches (the deeper the liquid, the more friction on the frother). SO. GLAD we added this to our kitchen gadgets, despite being such minimalists! Coffee/latte making is a BREEZE!" —Katie B.

Get it from Amazon for $19.95 (available in 10 colors).

    11. A dual hair dryer and brush that'll dry your hair as you style it, cutting your prep time in half and giving your locks an incredible amount of volume and shine.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Unlike other hairdryers, this one can be held closer to the roots and scalp for a higher volume and lift, and helps you curl hair at the end while it dries. It comes with three heat settings and is designed to work on all hair textures — reviewers with 2a through 4c hair mentioned it working for them, and especially noted that it helps cut down on drying time!

Promising review: "I was trying not to get my hopes up based on all the positive reviews, but holy moly, this dryer brush is amazing! I feel like I’ve missed out on years of great hair up until now. I have long, fine hair that needs some extra help to get more volume. I’ve typically relied on volumizing dry shampoo and not washing every day to do that — which has helped a lot but felt like I was missing a step when drying my hair. I could never manage the professional-looking blowout...until now! I even have setting curlers and am using Boldify spray. It is easy to use, even on my first try. The settings are easy to access, and no worries about hitting the switch because you twist instead. It dries fast and isn’t too loud. I love it and will be using it from now on!" —Lacey Dias

Get it from Amazon for $41.99 (available in three styles).

    12. A mini donut maker for anyone with a sweet tooth — truly, can you think of anything in this universe more delicious than a warm homemade donut?? I'll wait.

You don't even need to figure out how to make donuts — this machine will take store bought brownie, muffin, and cake mix just fine.

Promising review: "I cannot say enough about the Dash Mini Donut Maker. It is so much fun to use and make donuts at home. Rather than going to the local chain donut restaurant, you can make your own specialty donuts at home. It is very easy to use and cleans up quickly. My children love to decorate the donuts after they are cooked. It's a fun family activity and the donuts taste great! Also, it comes with a neat design and stands out among my other boring looking kitchen cooking appliances. If you like donuts, this product is for you." —JoshH

The tube-shaped metal wine opener next to a bottle of wine it just uncorked
    Amazon

    Amazon, amazon.com

I've owned one of these babies and have faithfully used it every week for upward of two years, and especially love it during quarantine — it simplifies breakfast because I know no matter what weird assortment of groceries I'm working with, there are precooked eggs to add some protein to it (I like mine medium-boiled 🍳). If my dinner is boring or seems like it needs a little extra "oomph" to it, I'll throw in an egg from this too. Some reviews note that the alarm on it is a little loud, but the new models have significantly decreased the volume and sing a little song instead!

Promising review: "Seriously. You think you know yourself, have an understanding of how frequently you actually want a hard boiled egg... then Dash rapid comes along and sweeps you off your feet. After eating a medium boiled egg on a piece of toast for the first time, I realized I'd never before truly experienced egg bliss. And this thing is sooo easy to use. I thought I was missing instructions because the water line for one egg is the same as six eggs... how can this be? Doesn't this defy some law of physics? But it works. You prick your egg(s) with the scary nail head then fill the cup to the desired water line, pour the water into the device any which way, slap on the lid, poke the lil button, and away.... it... goes! It'll scream at'cha when the eggs are done cooking. Rinse them in cold water and prepare for the easiest shell removal of your life. Makes eating healthy so fun I could scream." —Shawkins

Promising review: "This works very well for my Golden Retriever and Husky. Both are very big dogs and scared of getting their nails trimmed. The Rexipets grinder is quiet and easy to use. I expected the battery to die and need charging after one dog, but I was able to trim them both. The great features allow me to be comfortable when taking care of my pets and that puts them at ease as well. I highly recommend!" —Robert

It also has customizable sounds to wake you up, like "Hawaiian waves."

Promising review: "Best wakeup light I've tried! It is pretty easy to set up and you can connect it to your Alexa app and control it from your phone! It has a LOT of different alarm sounds to choose from (and even had radio options) and the light from this thing is bright enough to light up your entire room! So much more powerful than previous 'wake up lights' I’ve purchased. I also like the different choices of sounds (I personally like the wind chimes one because it’s not too startling) and you can even dim (or turn off) the clock settings to your liking. This product gradually increases in light and sound intensity as it approaches the alarm set time, which allows for a more gradual morning wake up. A dog in a neon green light up collar
    Amazon

The collar is also lightweight and USB rechargeable, giving five hours of illumination for one hour of charge.

Promising review: "So far, this collar has been outstanding. I ordered it in the neon green for our black dog's safety while we are taking him for his last daily walk, which always ends up being after dark and along our rural road--leashed of course. We also put it on him while we are camping at our cabin so we can easily spot him as he's poking around the campsite. The collar is really bright and easily seen from a distance, and has two different blinking modes you can select, or steady on, which is what we use. It is extremely easy to operate, and seems to hold a charge well — haven't had to charge it again since the original charge we gave it upon receiving the collar, although our evening walk is pretty short, 10 or 15 minutes usually. I always take the collar off upon are return — it's not really the type of collar we'd leave on him all the time as pooch is the sort to take a quick swim in the pond on warm days and this collar is not meant to be submerged in water. This collar has great visibility if you have to walk your dog near a road and safety is a concern, or you just need to keep tabs on your dog in the great outdoors after dark. As we've only had it for three weeks I can't speak about the long term reliability yet, but everything else about it has been stellar. Very happy with this purchase." —PublicMenace1

    29. A collapsible, waterproof Bluetooth-enabled solar lantern you can toggle through an entire rainbow of beautiful colors to adorn everywhere from your porch to your bedroom, even floating on top of a swimming pool.

    Amazon

LuminAID is a women-founded small brand established in 2010 with a commitment to creating flat-packing, cost-effective inflatable solar lanterns for distributed after disasters. They now specialize in Bluetooth-enabled lights, solar lights, and solar chargers, and run a Give Light program to sponsor lights sent to charitable causes.

Promising review: "I'm already a big fan of LuminAID products, as they supply solar lights to ShelterBox, the international disaster relief organization I volunteer for. I have purchased several of their first and second generation solar lanterns for our home disaster prep kit, as I know how well they perform in every environment. This new 'Bloomio Twist' lantern achieves a whole new level of user-friendly lighting technology. As with the second gen lantern, this one features a USB charging port for either solar charging a device, or charging the lantern itself from a power source. But what makes this lantern something more than an emergency light source is having the ability to switch between white light and different colors: Red, Blue Green, Purple, and Pink. You can also control this lantern using a smartphone. Smartphone control is managed via an app/Bluetooth interface, and it's reliable and easy to use. If you bought a handful of these to use as patio party lanterns, then being able to remotely control them would be handy if the lanterns are hung out of reach. Although I've only used this lantern for a couple of week's worth of limited use, LuminAID's reputation for quality makes me confident that it'll perform reliably for years. Highly recommended!" —David Hall

You can either use this with your phone mounted just under the light for FaceTime or TikTok, or if you're calling or filming from a laptop, you can set up the tripod or the light on your desk behind the screen. Boom, fancy lighting.

Promising review: "I do a lot of filming, I have a YouTube channel and I teach singing online. I can't often face a window, which is the preferred way to get good lighting, because I need my piano in front of me to film my videos. I also have professional video lighting, but this light is easy to set up and a great addition to my gear. It is portable, has adjustable colors (I prefer the blue, most natural light) and dims, too. It has an excellent smart phone attachment to hold your phone safely on the telescoping stand, and I've used this attachment on a mic stand instead as needed. It can pivot for horizontal or vertical placement. The tripod stand is of course adjustable, and since the light is so lightweight, you can put it on a table near you very easily." —ganini

Currently using with just a white shower curtain for a screen. Hope to get a proper projector screen in order to expand viewing to the backyard. Will use all summer instead of going to movie theater. Will just stream Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc. and save lots of money. I can see using this in a basement instead of purchasing a big screen TV. Lightweight and easy to store. Would purchase again!" —V.
