I am ~OBSESSED~ with this song. Everything about it makes me think of Chocolat and Juliette Binoche. Also "I was born in the dim glow of autumn light with the tune of an accordion and the taste for pink wine" = my autumn aesthetic.

2. "Drive," by Halsey

Tbh, all of Halsey's music makes for perfect seasonal listening: The songs are the perfect mix of dreamy with a touch of sorrow. But out of all of them, "Drive" would be my top pick for autumn, with Colours coming in a close second.

3. "Nikes," by Frank Ocean

We've been waiting so long for this song it's only fitting we play it on repeat from now until well into next year. It definitely helps that the song itself is loaded with a thoroughly autumnal slow smoothness.

Dancing my way through September with Hayley Kiyoko's latest song. (FYI, "Cliffs Edge" also gives me major autumn ~feels~.)

If you don't crunch through leaves listening to the just-as-textured voice of Bob Dylan. you are not going autumn right.

Every autumn since it came out, this goes on my playlist without fail. I just can't quit you, Donald.

This song always makes me feel very introspective, which is perfect for seasonal walks – in autumn you must walk through the leaves while thinking deeply about deep things. That is the rule. Plus, the video reminds me of Bonfire Night funfairs.

8. "Don't Wanna Be Your Girl," by Wet

If there was ever a season for indie R&B, it's autumn.

If you've not listened to much K-pop, let this song be your gateway drug. The sound is my favourite flavour of hazy electropop, with just the right amount of wistful feeling for the upcoming season.

10. "Ain't My Fault," by Zara Larsson

Zara's new song is a great option for if you want something a bit more upbeat in your autumn playlist, while still maintaining the overall integrity of your autumn *aesthetic*.

SEPTEMBER IS SYNTH SEASON. GIVE ME ALL THE SYNTH. ALL OF IT.

But seriously, this pop from Canadian singer-songwriter Allie X is ridiculously addictive.

16. "Gun Street Girl," by Tom Waits

When the leaves turn gold, that's when I put away my J.Lo and Baby Bash and crack out the Tom Waits. This is and always will be my ultimate autumn song. Fittingly, the album this is on (Rain Dogs) was first released in September. If you're looking for another Tom Waits song to listen to as it gets even colder, Clap Hands is a great one for it.

20. "Into U," by Astronomyy

I love Ariana Grande, but she's just so summer. Astronomyy fixed it by releasing a thoroughly ~September~ cover of her hit song Into You. I'm into it.

21. "Alright," by Keaton Henson

Keaton Henson is a sweet autumn man. He is not for summer. It's too hot in summer; his beard would get sweaty. He is for cardigan-wearing September days when you're ready to lie down and maybe cry a little bit but in a good cathartic, autumnal way.

22. "Remember," by Jhene Aiko

In autumn I want to listen to sad songs, don't ask me why. Jhene Aiko nails the tone i'm looking for: not too dark, not too weepy, just the right level of beautifully mournful.
