How Did You Learn How To Be Handy Around The House?

We want to know.

Are you handy? As in, do you own (at least) a basic tool kit and do you know how to use it? If so, how the hell did you learn?!

Did you find a tutorial on YouTube that helped you fix a running toilet?

Or did you find a book that taught you how to fix your car when you were a bit too cash-strapped to hire a professional?

Maybe you took a class because you were determined to be self-sufficient with minor home repairs.

Or maybe you nag the Lowes or Home Depot employees every time you go to buy parts for a new project.

Perhaps your mom or dad has been teaching you how to safely use power tools since you were a kid.

Or perhaps you just have a really good friend that you know you can call if you can't figure something out like how to fix your bike chain.

Whatever it is, we want to know! Tell us the story and/or drop the link to the book, video or blog that taught you how to be a handy around the house, and you could be featured and you could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post.
