“We always think about transgender people as something new and related to the cities (drugs, hiv, etc)” Just who is this ‘we’? I think of myself (I am trans) as more of a fairly typical adult with one unusual little detail in my past. That’s probably more typical than the ‘other’.

Sorry, but it’s so amusing to read comments by people who have no experience or understanding of the issue; and indeed how could they? Any ‘decision’ involved is change to be who you are, or die.
