A knife and gun brawl at a motorcycle gathering in Denver ended Saturday with one person dead and several others seriously injured.

Multiple shootings reported at Denver Coliseum. LOTS of police here.

The brawl erupted in the early afternoon during a motorcycle expo held near downtown Denver, police said during a news conference.

Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez told BuzzFeed News one person was killed in the fighting, though she did not provide additional details about what sparked the violence.

However, witnesses told multiple news outlets and reporters at the scene that the fighting broke out between feuding biker gangs. An unnamed law enforcement source also told NBC News the fighting involved biker gangs, including the Mongols.

Lopez told BuzzFeed News police were still investigating the role of gangs and speaking with witnesses late Saturday afternoon.

1 man said his friend remains inside the building. Said rival biker gangs started feud. He chose 2 remain anonymous for fear of retaliation

The violence left several people injured, including some who were in critical condition.

Police did not have a final count of the number of injuries, Lopez told BuzzFeed News.

According to Denver Health, seven people were transported to area hospitals — one dead, three in critical condition, and three in serious condition.

The hospital's Emergency Department was on lockdown as a precaution.

"Ensuring the safety of all patients and visitors is our top priority," the hospital said on Twitter. "All patients, staff, and visitors on campus are safe. We will alert you when the campus is open once again."

In a press conference held within an hour of the shooting, Denver police said that no civil servants were injured in the incident, and that the investigation is still active with no one in police custody.

The motorcycle expo continued after the fighting ended.

According to the Denver Post, the incident took place at the Colorado Motorcycle Expo. The event's website bills the expo as the "one of the largest indoor motorcycle events in the United States, drawing people from all over the country."

Lopez said at a news conference that the motorcycle expo continued after the incident with heavy security.

An announcement for a wet tshirt contest just blared over the speakers. Hours earlier, a fatal shooting & stabbing.

Elizabeth Hernandez of the Denver Post reported that people continued shopping and moving through the expo after the shooting. The Post also spoke to one man who pointed to dried blood on the floor that people were walking over.

"Everyone is so desensitized," Bob Cook told the Post.

People seem to be streaming out. Some still inside. Waiting for details

Saturday's fight occurred months after a biker gang brawl in Waco, Texas killed nine and injured 18 members of the Bandidos and Cossack biker gangs. More than 100 people were later indicted in the resulting criminal case.
