It's been six months since Modern Family left our screens after 11 years on air.
However, the cast and crew actually shot the final scenes back in February and it's safe to say that it's been an...eventful time since.
In fact, the cast and production team have both recently reflected on how lucky they feel to have shot the show's final season before the coronavirus crisis took hold as it would have almost certainly delayed production and potentially forced a change in storylines.
"We had a really nice last few weeks together as a cast and we had a really wonderful wrap party," Jesse Tyler Ferguson told The Wrap in April, "I'm just really grateful that we got to have that closure."
However, the pandemic has also meant that the cast of the show have been unable to see each other since they filmed their final scenes, and judging by various Instagram posts from the last few months, it's clear they've been missing each other.
Well, last week saw Jesse Tyler Ferguson turn 45, and it seems as though he had one birthday wish — to reunite with some of his Modern Family costars.
Jesse revealed on Instagram that he'd managed to get together with his on screen sister, niece and stepmother — Julie Bowen, Sarah Hyland and Sofia Vergara — for a cosy dinner.
The food looked sensational.
And Jesse also revealed that he'd been spoiled by his former co-stars — Julie knit his baby son a hat...
While Sofia treated him to a very NSFW candlestick.
And each actor went on to post their reunion photos with emotional captions expressing how much they'd missed each other and how special the evening had been.
"Thank u @jessetyler @justinmikita for our first Modern Fam reunion!! ❤️❤️❤️ missing half of the gang!!! But so much fun!!!😷😷" Sofia wrote.
"So amazing to see these people again. And, yes, I’ll get a new mask tomorrow..." Julie posted.
"J’adore ma famille 💕✨" Sarah said.
And, after seeing Sofia's post, Sarah even hopped into the comments to reiterate how much she'd missed her since the show wrapped.
The reunion came just days after it was announced that Sarah would soon be reuniting professionally with her former on screen dad, Ty Burrell.
