Kit Harington Revealed Some Cryptic Details About The Final Season Of "Game Of Thrones"

He also said he "cried his eyes out" after reading the ending.

In case you'd somehow missed it, we are just a month away from the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones being released.

Yesterday we got our first glimpse into what's in store for the final season when the first teaser trailer dropped. And then later in the evening Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

And while he couldn't divulge any of the plot-points of the final season, he did reveal a couple of details which were very interesting all the same.

Kit began by revealing that he found out the ending of the series at a table read with the rest of the cast, and that the writers used his reactions as a litmus test for the viewers.

He said: "We had a table read through and I was the only one who hadn't read the episode. I think I told everyone I didn't want to know what happened, but really it was just laziness. The writers used me as a litmus test to see my reaction to things as the events unfolded, and they got some pretty good reactions."

While he couldn't reveal the exact details of the final episode, Kit did say it made him cry.

Kit explained: "At the very end I was very shocked and surprised at certain events, and then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried."

He went on to say that both he and wife Rose Leslie had multiple theories about how the show would end, but they all turned out to be wrong.

He said: "I had my theories. I had theories all along, and all of them were wrong. I'm quite glad I never told anyone. [Rose] has guessed every single possible outcome bar the one that actually happens."

Kit also revealed that much of his shooting took place during winter in Belfast, and he was jealous of his co-stars stationed in Croatia.

He said: "All the other characters would come back from Croatia and be like, 'Oh, it was great, we had these silk costumes, we went skinny dipping at the end of the day with our margaritas and I was like, 'I've been in the rain and the mud with my 15 kg costume on for months.'"

And, when it came to reflecting on the last decade, Kit said he's still "pinching himself" at all the experiences he's had as a result of the show.

He said that his expectations at the beginning were low: "All I knew was that I'd been booked in a pilot for an HBO TV show, and that was just winning the lottery — whether it was good or got picked up was by-the-by for me. To think that I'd be out in New York doing talk shows, or going to the Emmys or SAG Awards, or meeting the people I's extraordinary. And after ten years of it, I'm still pinching myself. I can't quite grasp it."
