Last Saturday, Taylor Swift caused the internet to implode after revealing a countdown clock on her website and social media, hinting that new music is coming on April 26.
Since then, she's been sharing daily cryptic Instagram posts and fans are, quite frankly, shook.
However, two days after Taylor began her countdown, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner announced that they were launching a perfume together.
Kim shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of herself and Kylie with the perfume bottles, alongside a caption containing one very important detail: "KKW FRAGRANCE X KYLIE launching 4/26 at NOON on kkwfragrance.com ."
That's right — Kylie and Kim were planning to launch their fragrance on the same day that Taylor might be releasing the lead single from her seventh album.
Needless to say, people noticed and began speculating that Kim had deliberately selected the same date in order to ~reignite her feud~ with Taylor, and accused her of doing it for attention.
A day later, Kim and Kylie pulled the promotional posts from their Instagram pages and images of the fragrance were also wiped from KKW Fragrance's Instagram account.
And now, in an interesting update, Kim has revealed that she and Kylie are delaying the release of the fragrance.
Taking to Twitter and her Instagram Story, Kim explained that some of the bottles "did not pass durability tests while on the assembly line," and said that neither she nor Kylie wanted to release a product of poor quality.
Kim concluded: "We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we have a new launch date!"
However, many people in the replies began accusing Kim of making an excuse to backtrack on her decision to launch the perfumes on the same day as Taylor's release.
But let's all slow down for second because it's likely that the release date and delay weren't to do with Taylor.
Firstly, Kim revealed back in January that she's "over" her feud with Taylor, so it seems unlikely she'd want to reignite anything.
And secondly, it's likely that the release date for the fragrances has been slated for a while. A recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians featured a scene in which Kim and Kylie discussed samples and packaging for the perfume which, based on Kylie's pink hair which she only had for a limited time, was shot in September last year.
And also, let's not forget that there's another very important release happening on April 26.
Spokespersons for Kim and Kylie have been contacted for comment.
