Love is real, guys.
Speaking on The Ellen Show, Justin said: "Every once in a while I can catch a glimpse of her when she doesn't see me looking and I have this moment where I'm like, "If you never make a good decision — if you only make bad decisions for the rest of your life — you made one really good decision." It's nice to marry your best friend."
She said: "We all get movie star crushes. I'm marrying mine."
Mila said: "I felt like I got punched in the gut. I was like, ‘Oh my god, I'm in love with this man and I have to walk away because this is not the agreement that we had and so I'm going to speak up." The next day, she met up with Ashton and told him: 'I'm just going to let you know, when a, b and c happened, I know that I had all of a sudden a very different reaction to it and I respect us and I respect you, and so I'm going to bail," before leaving.
And that was that. Four years later, they're married with two kids.
Speaking on Tidal's Rap Radar Podcast, Will said: "We don't even say we're married anymore. We refer to ourselves as 'life partners,' where you get into that space where you realise you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life. There's no deal breakers. There's nothing she could do—ever—nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, and it feels so good to get to that space."
In an interview with Vulture years later, Burtka identified the exact location as 9th Avenue between 44th and 45th Streets in NYC.
David once explained: "We are, in a way, very codependent. He’s my lifeline, in an amazing way. Without him, I can’t breathe."
She said: "It has to be a true partnership, and you have to really, really like and respect the person you're married to, because it is a hard road. I stopped believing in love at first sight. I think you go through that wonderful love stage, but when it gets hard, you need a little bit more."
He said: "Michelle was trying to figure out, OK, if the kids get sick why is it that she's the one who has to take time off of her job to go pick them up from school, as opposed to me? What I tried to do was to learn to be thoughtful enough and introspective enough that I wasn't always having to be told that things were unfair."
They didn’t find out until much later on that it was a case of love at first sight for both of them, but Ricky says he “lost his breath” when he first laid eyes on his future husband.
Back in 1987, Oprah said: "He's a very special man in that he's not the least bit intimidated by me or what I do. He says to me all the time: "Look, I want you to be president. You want to be president? Run for president. I'll work the campaign." He's learned how to navigate [her fame.] That takes a confident man. That embodies who he is."
She said: "He's the most positive person ever. He's the most extraordinary man."
Lauren was a writer on the show, and thanks to the process of writing and exploring the themes in OITNB, began to question her sexuality and marriage to a man.
She recently gave this marriage advice to a fan: "Loving someone despite their faults, failings, or character defects, is the most powerful loving thing you can do. Rejoice in what makes the other person happy and allow them their individual interests. Know that everyone is doing the best they can with what they've got. So get a bigger emotional tool box to fix your problems."
Dax once revealed: "She was doing a movie in Alaska and I was shooting Parenthood and I couldn’t go and she was going away for a long time. But then my schedule changed and I didn’t tell her, so I got the seat next to her on the airplane and then I sweet-talked the gate representative to let me on the plane early. So when she went to sit down, I was in her seat reading a newspaper and she kept going, ‘Excuse me, sir. Excuse me, sir. I think you’re in my seat.' And then she noticed: "Those hands look familiar," and then she started bawling when she saw that I was on the flight."
She said: "Meeting John really changed my life. When I feel the support I have from him, I feel invincible. There’s someone behind you on your good days, and someone in front of you on your bad days."
He said: "I was never the coolest kid on the block, so I never had the ‘good ol’ days’ of a playboy type of lifestyle … So for me, the best days of my life started when I met my wife. She's so talented, she's beautiful and she's out of my league. And so all of a sudden all of the things I loved, I got to find someone who loved that about me."
