Chrissy Teigen’s Friends Donated Blood To "Replace The Seven Pints" She Was Given In Hospital In Honour Of Her Late Son Jack

Her friends donated seven pints of blood — the same number Chrissy was given in hospital as doctors fought to save her pregnancy.

Chrissy Teigen has emotionally revealed that her friends have donated blood in tribute to her late son, Jack.

Last month, Chrissy announced on Instagram that she'd lost her third baby after weeks of pregnancy complications and excessive bleeding that led to her being hospitalised.

"We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we've never felt before," Chrissy wrote alongside a series of devastating photos of herself with husband John Legend and their son in hospital.

"To our Jack — I'm so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications," Chrissy added. "That we couldn't give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you."

Chrissy then took a break from social media but returned last week with a personal essay in which she opened up about her grief and thanked the public for their support.

Well, Chrissy has now revealed that her friends have continued to shower her with love, sharing an Instagram post explaining that they had donated seven pints of blood in tribute to her son — the same number she was given in hospital as doctors fought to save the pregnancy.

"OK, I tried writing this 4 times but the tears were too much," Chrissy wrote alongside a video of her friends' donation. "Here we go again, with my heart full of warmth and happiness."

"My friend @kimmiekyees sent me this with the caption 'Me and 6 of my friends donated blood to replace the 7 pints you were given in the hospital, in honor of baby Jack. I love you friend 💛'" Chrissy continued.

"Phewwwww the tears," she added. "I'm overwhelmed by our circle of friends. The love I feel for each and every person in our circle actually makes me ache ... To do something like this for baby Jack is just...I dunno. Beautiful."

Chrissy went on to say that her friend had been told that "volunteers and donations were severely down" because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Kimmie, I love you," she signed off the message. "I love this. I am so proud of the people I surround myself and my family with. 💨🍃🦋"

The post came just a day after Chrissy revealed that she'd got a new tattoo in tribute to her son, adding his name on her wrist above the inking spelling out the names of John and her other children, Luna and Miles.

Ok, I tried writing this 4 times but the tears were too much. Here we go again, with my heart full of warmth and happiness. My friend @kimmiekyees sent me this with the caption “Me and 6 of my friends donated blood to replace the 7 pints you were given in the hospital, in honor of baby Jack. I love you friend 💛”

Phewwwww the tears. I’m overwhelmed by our circle of friends. The love I feel for each and every person in our circle actually makes me ache. @kimmiekyees, I’ve known you for so many years now. You know every story, you hear every life gripe, you’re amazing at what you do but the way you treat my kids and family is cherished always. To do something like this for baby jack is just...I dunno. Beautiful.

@kimmiekyees was told by the volunteers that donations were severely down because high schoolers are responsible for so much of the blood donated. Usually they’d get a coupon for an ice cream cone or a movie ticket, but without school in session, donations are down. I have a lot of friends who normally would donate from a special day at work, but alas, no work.

Kimmie, I love you. I love this. I am so proud of the people I surround myself and my family with. 💨🍃🦋
