Brody Jenner Felt Uncomfortable Discussing His "Open Relationship" With Kaitlynn Carter On "The Hills"

It remains to be seen whether he allows his new relationship to be filmed, though.

If you spent any time on the internet over the summer, I'm sure you'll be aware of the ~drama~ that went down between Brody Jenner, Kaitlynn Carter, Miley Cyrus, and Liam Hemsworth.

In the most unexpected showbiz plot twist of the year, Kaitlynn and Miley announced their respective splits from husbands Brody and Liam, before embarking on a romantic Italian vacation together.

Miley then had a public spat with Brody over Instagram, while his mom liked a bunch of shady comments about Kaitlynn. The girls sent Brody a joint birthday present before ending their romance in September, and a few weeks later, Brody went public with his new girlfriend, Josie Canseco.

However, what made things even more dramatic was the fact that The Hills: New Beginnings hit our screens at the exact same time, documenting issues in Brody and Kaitlynn's marriage while they were publicly separating.

And then came the bombshell that they were never actually legally married.

Brody and Kaitlynn had a lavish wedding ceremony in Indonesia last year, but revealed during an episode of The Hills that they were "too busy" before going to tie the knot legally and "hadn't got around" to doing it when they'd gotten back either. Brody went on to say that he "didn't believe" in the legal part of a marriage but was on board with the rest.

Well, it's now been confirmed that The Hills: New Beginnings will be back for a second season. And so naturally the question on everyone's lips is whether or not the new series will cover the drama between Kaitlynn and Brody.

And it turns out, the answer is yes!

When asked by Entertainment Tonight whether the split will play out onscreen, Brody responded: "I'm sure you're going to see a lot of that. Of course, you will have to stay tuned to see what goes on. But, you'll definitely see some of that."

He went on to suggest that filming the breakup and its aftermath might actually end up being therapeutic.

But Brody also said that the last season of The Hills forced him and Kaitlynn to publicly address parts of their relationship they were uncomfortable sharing.

"There's no preparation for the kind of things that they throw at you," Brody explained. "If you prepare for something, they'll throw a complete curveball. I will say that there were some things that came out this season that I didn't feel was anybody's business. But ... the way The Hills is, they pry and they want to know all this shit that you don't want them to know."

However, it remains unclear as to whether fans of the show will gain any insight into Brody's new relationship with Josie.
