Reese Witherspoon And Ryan Phillippe's Daughter, Ava, Responded To Comments That Her Boyfriend Resembles Her Dad

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe's daughter was inundated with comments on an Instagram photo of herself with her new boyfriend suggesting that he resembled her father.

If you cast your minds back to the late 1990s, you'll probably recall that Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe were married. You'll also remember that they looked ridiculously cute together.

Shortly after they tied the knot, Witherspoon and Phillippe went on to have two children together — Ava and Deacon — who are now 19 and 15 respectively.

Witherspoon and Phillippe split in 2006 after almost 10 years together. She's since gone on to remarry and have another child — Tennessee, who's 6 — while Phillippe is currently single.

Ever since Ava and Deacon became old enough to be on social media and began sharing photos of themselves, much has been made of the fact that they're basically miniature versions of their parents. And yes, I understand how genetics work, but they really are doppelgängers.

A year ago, Ava Phillippe went off to study at the University of California, Berkeley, and it appears that she's recently got into a new relationship. She and her boyfriend made their Instagram debut yesterday after she shared these two photos of them together.

And it's safe to say they both look smitten.

Of course, many people in the comments — including Witherspoon and other celebrities, such as Mindy Kaling — were quick to leave messages about how loved-up the pair looked.

However, there were also a lot of people who left comments telling Ava that they thought her boyfriend resembled her dad, pictured in 2016 below.

Seriously, there were a lot of these comments.

In fact, things got so out of hand that several people waded in to point out that the comments were a little strange and possibly uncomfortable for Ava.

And one Instagram user eventually posted a comment addressing Ava directly, saying: "He does not look like your dad."

It appears that Ava appreciated the comment, and responded with one of her own thanking the original poster. Ava's comment has now gone on to amass over 600 likes.

So now that she's had her say, let's let Ava live.
