The day before the Sherlock Season 3 premiere, “The Empty Hearse,” Tumblr was already freaking out.
And a lot of expectations about what the new episode would bring.

As anticipated, pretty much NOBODY was emotionally prepared.
Much of the fan flailing was due to some VERY unexpected moments, like Sherlock kissing Molly.

Parts of the episode seem to have been written especially for the show’s hardcore fans.
And speculate about what might have happened behind the scenes.
Then, in true form, things started to get out of control.
In what can only be described as a “Sherlock hangover,” many fans weren’t sure what to think when they woke up Thursday morning.
But these things are for sure: The Sherlock fandom has returned to dominate the internet once more, hiatus be damned…
And the show’s creators are still the two true kings of Tumblr.
