Promising review: "Buy it. Period. I almost never take the time to write Amazon reviews. But for this item I will take the time! It is INCREDIBLE. My son and I just returned from a 10-day European school trip. We traveled by coach bus, train, and took 2 9-hour flights during that time. On every single leg of our amazing but long journey this phone clamp worked like a dream. EVERYONE on the tour wanted to know what it was and where to buy it. 5 stars all day!" —ASchmels

Fit three pairs of heels plus some other knickknacks, then I had to stuff my actual purse in it at the last minute to ‘hide.’ It all fit (my purse was small). The zipper storage is great for phone, boarding pass, charging cords quick access, and is not bulky to slip over luggage handle. Used it twice now and it’s holding up well. BUY IT. Fits all airline requirements and could be used as a weekend bag as well on its own. Buying another color for hubby." —Krystal J.

Go through security FULLY hungover knowing you can fill up your water bottle with this *right* after.
~Trust me~ when I tell you that these will work in a pinch. I bought them a few years ago to take on a bachelorette party to New Orleans, and everyone in the Airbnb was grateful I did. Since then, I've always had them in my carry-on bag when going on a trip. They REALLY came in handy when I went to the Greek islands for 10 days with an apparent mission to eat every piece of seafood and cheese within sight while washing it down with jugs of wine. These are powder in small individual packets, so they're so easy to pack! And also you don't have to lug around a bottle of Gatorade to feel better.

Yep, I also own and love this set! it includes the zippered bag, four soft silicone bottles with leakproof caps, three compact jars, an two toothbrush caps. I've used this set on more than five trips and and for trips when I don't require body wash or shampoo (like to visit my parents) I use the extra room in the bag to shove in all my beauty products and daily contacts. Plus! It comes with labels that stay on the containers really well despite my thoroughly washing these containers between trips. I bought this set in spring 2019 and have, admittedly, lost a container or two. But the ones that I've held onto over dozens of trips have all held up well!

10. A set of six Cadence containers that are magnetized and'll stick together in your toiletries bag. They're super sturdy, leak-proof, and even work great for a few days' worth of vitamins or holding small jewelry. They've quickly become one of my packing go-tos.
Cadence is an AAPI woman-owned small business that was founded by Steph Hon as a way to eliminate single-use travel-sized plastics. The containers are made from recycled ocean-bound plastic.
But I'm not the only fan on the BuzzFeed Shopping team. My co-worker Abby Kass has these and loves them! Here's what she has to say about them: "I recently got a set of four of these, and, wow, I love them so much. I used them on a six-day trip recently, and they were perfect. I customized the label so I knew which one was my shampoo vs. conditioner and did a general label for any other things I wanted to bring along. They do hold a surprising amount. According to the brand, they hold approximately one to two weeks of skincare products, more than two weeks' worth of serum, two to three days' worth of haircare, and more than 15 tablets (for medicine and such). And while two to three days worth of haircare might not seem like enough, I found it held more than that for me, but I also don't wash my hair every single day. They were small enough to slip right into my toiletries bag and go through TSA with no problem. The container was easy to open in the shower (even with wet hands), and I had no leakage from them (like I did from my face wash bottle that will not be making the trip with me next time, SMH). These are an incredibly useful tool anyone who travels will want in their luggage."
Promising review: "The Cadence capsules are worth the hype and money. I cannot wait to use them on upcoming trip to Disney. If you are on the fence about these, go ahead and buy them. It's such a quality piece to add to your travel collection." —Jennifer S.

12. A set of homeopathic jet lag pills can help you fight off time zone changes and disrupted sleep schedules. Plus, you can actually sleep while taking these. I've taken them on a couple of red eyes and I think they help!
According to the instructions, you should take them at take-off and then every two hours and then again once you arrive to help with relaxation and combat sleepiness.
Promising review: "So, I was skeptical about this product, but since it’s pretty cheap and I didn’t want to suffer from Jet lag on my short trip to India — I bought it. To my surprise, IT WORKS! I used as directed on my 14+ hour flight from Chicago to Delhi: one on take-off, two every 2 hours, one before landing. I also wanted to note that I slept twice — an hour each time. My flight left Friday at 1:30 p.m. Chicago time, landed late at around 3:45 p.m. Delhi time on Saturday. After I landed, I went sightseeing, ate food, checked into my hotel, and explored. Late that night, we went to a pub with some locals. Got to the hotel around 2 a.m. pretty drunk. We went to bed around 3am. Woke up the next day around 8 a.m. ready to rock. The rest of the trip my sleeping was never an issue. I was able to sleep fine at night, wake up in the morning easily, wasn’t tired during the day. No problems.
On the way home, I did NOT use the pills and I am currently writing this review at 4:30 a.m. after waking up at 11:45 p.m. and not being able to fall back asleep. Buy them, use them. You will thank yourself!" —Erin S

13. And a bar of natural, plastic-free solid shampoo you can easily make room for in your bag. Plus, it won't leak!
Promising review: "AMAZING! Buy it now! When I turned 30, suddenly my hair became super greasy at the base of my head. No matter what I did, nothing took the grease out. And then along came this shampoo bar. In just a single wash, the grease was gone and my hair was visibly healthier and touchably soft. It's a small bar, but it will last a long time. I've had it for a month and it still looks like I took it out of the box yesterday. Like any bar soap, you need to store it properly so it won't dry out and crumble (like you saw happen in some of the negative reviews). You can prevent this by spending $3 at Walmart on a soap saving sponge, they come in a pack of two. *PRO TIP* while doing research I found that if you follow with an apple cider vinegar spray the results are even better. And it's true." —M.A.

And they come with a hand pump for travel!
Promising review: "SAVED OUR LIVES. IF YOU TRAVEL, YOU MUST BUY THESE. I bought two packages because two of us were doing some international travel to India from the USA. Had some fancy soirees, and dresses and tunics for a wedding. Rolled them up and literally made it a quarter of the size. There’s no need to have a vacuum pump but it just takes a strong arm and a table top to roll it out. It makes some funny sounds but really gets all the air out. Really good product and highly recommended. I have another package but not going to sell it back because I like them so much. They’re reusable too." —Victor Hammond
Get a pack of five from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in four sizes).
16. Or a collection of compression packing cubes you can use over and over again without having to remember to pack a pump for sucking out the air.

So I'd suggest using these in a backpack or tote bag you plan to put under the seat.

Promising review: "This is an absolute steal. I had this thing on my Amazon Wish List for way too long before I had a few bucks left over on a gift card and said, eh might as well. I am super pleased with the quality. It's a little thicker than I would have expected but it's really solid, pretty, and functional. I noticed in some of the reviews that people said they had issues with the snap. I have not had that issue. The strap works 100% and is a little stiff, but it's leather so it will work in well. If you are looking at this thing because you want something to keep your headphones from tangling, do yourself a favor and buy it." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "This travel pillow design is simply brilliant! You can bend it into whatever shape your heart (or neck) desires! The memory foam is 150x better than the beads or stiff foam you find in most travel pillows. Also, unlike most travel pillows, the case is removable for easy cleaning. The cover is also super soft; it reminds me of a jersey T-shirt material. Talk about versatile also — I use it as lumbar support/comfort and my son uses it as a lap pillow when watching his iPad. Just buy it!!" —Tiffany Lemoine

Promising review: "Buy it! I bought this for a trip and it did not disappoint! I used it to recharge my phone every day during my five-day trip without having to recharge the charger once. It takes a while to charge it fully but it will last a while and charge your phone very fast. While reading other reviews it seems people were making the mistake of trying to charge in the wrong ports, it is very clear that two are for input only. The USB is the only one for charging. This product is a must buy, I carry it in my purse at all times and I use it often because of how quickly it charges." —Melissa
Get it from Amazon for $21.99+ (available in two colors).
21. Plus a six-port wall charger to help you get around a hotel room where you're having to share outlets with your travel companions. Also, just think about the airport possibilities!
Seriously though — why aren't there more outlets in hotel rooms?! Something I'll never understand.
Promising review: "Buy this and never worry about charging again. I have had issues with other chargers burning out cables incredibly fast. Even had issues with an external charger for batteries for vaping that is supposed to charge two batteries at 1 amp or 4 at .5 amps. The charger says it needs a 2.1a USB port. I have used dozens of USB outlets that are 2.1a and every one backs the amps down to .4-.8amps when charging so charging takes almost twice as long. I plugged my iPad Air, iPhone, Bluetooth speaker, iPod, Bluetooth keyboard, and the external battery charger in question all into this, and every single one charged quickly with NO loss in amps to the battery charger. I was blown away." —Bryan

Promising review: "Buy it. I’m obsessed with the comfort this provides. I accidentally left my original one at my parents’ house. I couldn’t imagine being without it, so I bought another one to keep at my home. I have recommended this to several of my friends. The gentle weight you feel when you first put it on instantly relaxes me. Easy to wash and comfortable to wear all night. I wake up in the morning with it still on my face. Promising review: "Buy this product. It is a Lifesaver!! Oh my goodness where has this been all of my life??? I was the kid who had car sickness to the point of throwing up on a long car ride. I had morning sickness with both of my children. And I still get carsick on trips. Even small trips around town.
I wore this to the Outer Banks in October after my doctor recommended it to me. The roads out there made me feel so sick I needed ginger ale in the car. I couldn't read or text the last time we were there. This past time I wore SeaBands and oh my heavens. It's a lifesaver. I could do everything I couldn't do before. Didn't need ginger ale.
Then I wore it to the mountains in November and same thing!
I even wear it at home for migraine headaches, stomach bug ect. Short trips around town too. This is a lifesaver. I highly recommend it. It's cheaper on Amazon than in walmart but if you have to get it there do so." —Kara Cargill

Like most people (I hope?), I’m always a little iffy about taking a dip in the water at the beach and leaving my wallet and phone on the beach. So when I booked a 2.5-week Europe trip with LOTS of beaching involved, I bought one of these Master Lock safes that I’ve put in multiple stories. It was a bit bulky in my suitcase, but I left it unlocked and put some stuff in there so it wasn’t just dead space. It came in handy at multiple beach clubs, where my friend and I stashed our credit cards, cash, and case-less phones while we frolicked in the sea. Despite lots of people milling about our umbrella while we had our fun, we felt our stuff was completely safe and could concentrate on *just* having fun.

39. A pocket-sized, refillable travel perfume atomizer you simply pump on your normal size perfume bottle to keep you smelling like your signature scent while you're on the go. Yes, I paid all that dough for a Le Labo but no I won't pay more dough for their (still v pricey) travel bottles.
^ That's me pumping my signature perfume into one of these travel atomizers I've been using for about a year. As the reviewer down below mentions, it's great to just throw in your purse on the reg for a fragrance re-up throughout the day. As you can see, it's about the size of my thumb and therefore takes up very little room. Plus! It's smaller than most rollerball travel fragrances you can pick up. This first one is working so well, that I just have the other three in storage. But if this one bites the dust this summer during travels, I'll be OK about digging into my stores to use one of the remaining three...especially at this price point.
Promising review: "I really don’t have any complaints. I have bought them before and I couldn’t find them so I reordered them again. They are easy to refill, very small so it’s amazing for on the go: and if you have a busy life this fits perfectly in your pockets, backpacks, and even small purses. Hairbrella is a Black-owned small business that has been creating fashionable hats that protect hair from all kinds of weather since 2016.
Promising review: "If you have natural hair that you wear in a silk press… you need the Hairbrella! If you have natural hair that you wear curly… you need the hairbrella! If you have relaxed hair… you need the hairbrella! Basically after losing my umbrella and resorting to the dreaded grocery bag over my head… I found Hairbrella on Amazon and I bought one for myself and two other relatives. We chose not to chemically straighten our hair, so humid or rainy days can be a choice to return to our beautiful curls if an umbrella is not handy. So imagine our excitement to find a stylish, lined waterproof rainbonnet that won’t have me looking crazy with a grocery bag on my head as I enter buildings.
Buy this…. You won’t be disappointed!" —Sherry
