Promising review: "After listening to dozens of clients and friends talk about their air fryers, I decided it was time to bite the bullet so to speak. Consumer Reports rave reviews led me to the Instant Vortex Plus. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️ IT! Everything seems to taste better cooked in an air fryer. Even salmon is more moist and flavorful. Plus food cooks more quickly than traditional oven or fryer methods. The Vortex is large capacity so it’s easy to cook two or more types of food at the same time. Do it... you won’t regret it! Salmon and fries for two all cooked together." —Rosanne Heideman

Get it an 8-quart model from Amazon for $179.95.

    the bag

"I recently ran out of plastic sandwich bags which lead to a discussion between my husband and me if we even really needed them in the house at all. We decided we did NOT and chose to try out reusable Stasher silicone snack bags instead. They've been great! They're super easy to clean, come in fun colors, and feature a really tight pinch-lock seal, so snacks stay fresh. We're definitely going to buy the sandwich bags as well. Welcoooooome to a plastic-free 2020!" —Heather Braga, BuzzFeed Editor

Promising review: "So far I am loving my Compact Dash Digital Air Fryer. I needed something lightweight that wouldn't take up a lot of room, and this product met both requirements. It looks attractive on the counter, it's easy to use, and easy to clean. I have cooked frozen french fries, frozen beer-battered cod, and fresh pork chops. So far everything has turned out excellent and crispy but not dried out. I am eager to try chicken and a few other foods soon. I am single so this is the perfect size for me." —Mary Merry

    4. A set of Rubbermaid vented lid storage containers with lids that snap onto the *bottom* of containers so you can ready your leftovers for later when you know you're gonna Hulk out if you don't get some food in your body. Turns out, meal prepping is essential when there's a fine line between hungry/hangry.

    the containers

Promising review: "These food containers are awesome! The price was so affordable, the fridge is now better organized, and the quality is very good. I love the vented tops you can use to microwave food, and my favorite soups, quickly and easily. I find that there is less use for the mini containers, so I would've liked another couple larger ones instead. But overall, the material is very durable and they're totally leakproof! They keep food, especially fruit and veggies, fresher for longer. My mom has trouble opening things with her hands but doesn't struggle with these. So these should be appropriate for most seniors with weaker grips. This is a great set with excellent value, and I would highly recommend it!" —P@¡n ₩@rr¡0r

Get them from Amazon for $$19.99+ (available in a 42-piece or 60-piece set).

cast iron pan with the Thai Coconut Sauce cooking with chicken and bok choy

I've tried nearly all of these sauces and can vouch they dress up all kinds of stuff. If you're craving some takeout food you're too lazy to replicate at home, some of these (esp the Thai Coconut Sauce that's shown here) will help you get some of that taste without buying a million ingredients. Psst, they're also Keto- and Paleo-friendly but IMO don't taste like it.

Promising review: "These sauces are magic. A high end trick added to our meal prep. Really tasty options. We have been doing meal prep for quite a while and the salt and pepper meals where getting old. We tried to incorporate skillet sauces into our meals and tried all the brands out there. They were OK but not very healthy. When I saw these on Amazon I had to try them (Keto- and Paleo-certified) and they taste amazing. Now we have a different flavor each and every day and we can still keep the diet." —Fernando Pimentel

    6. A variety pack of A Dozen Cousins ready-to-eat seasoned beans, an extremely tasty recipe of a dinner staple already zhuzhed up for you, unlike the bulk bag of dried black beans you bought at the grocery store. If 60 seconds doesn't solve hanger, Idk what will.

The founder based his flavorful creations off his own Creole, Caribbean, and Latin kitchen. These are the ultimate in convenience. You only have to put the bag in the microwave for 60 seconds, which'll help you concentrate on the other parts of your meal. I love mixing the Trini Chickpea Curry with leftover rice for a super satisfying weekday lunch. The black beans are TO DIE FOR.

Promising review: "Who writes a review about beans? Somebody who loves beans but had given up on them, until now. This is a great product. Canned beans from my local supermarket are always a disappointment so I stopped getting them. I don't have time to cook beans myself but A Dozen Cousins beans are fresh and taste terrific. I am trying to eat healthier and these are a great way to do that. I've been trying to avoid packaged, processed foods but the natural ingredients make these different. I can feel good about eating them. The beans are whole and not mashed up like in cans. All of the varieties are seasoned well and versatile. I've had them on their own, in salads and in wrap sandwiches. I'm really happy to have found these and hope they continue to add new flavors and products. Do yourself a favor and order some. You won't regret it." —Amazon Customer

Oh and people say using this helps prevents tears from chopping onions!

Promising review: "I love this veggie chopper. I often use it to make veggie soups and to make hash browns with onions and peppers. (Before this I would view that as far too much work due to the need to chop everything so finely.) I also use it to make zucchini spiral noodles for veggie 'spaghetti.' I appreciate the fact that it is easy to store the spare parts inside the spiralizer. Also, the brush is handy for cleaning." —SLC

    10. A trio of truffle hot sauces both Oprah and I adore, and think are worth you trying out for yourself. Leftovers and random egg whites that are somehow still not expired in your fridge have never tasted so good. Seriously though, this stuff is transformative.

three bottles of the hot sauce beside a burger with it dizzled on

OK so I know these beauts are a little more steep than your Texas Pete or Frank's Red Hot (both fine hot sauces!), but if you taste them you'll get why I'm making such a big deal over them. A month ago I got super ambitious and ordered a whole bunch of egg whites with a bulk-size grocery delivery, fully forgetting how much you have to doctor up egg whites to make them taste like something. Well, I'm dumping the white truffle sauce all over it. Now those egg whites are merely a vehicle for this delicious stuff! See, I've got lots of great ideas!

Promising review: "I live alone in a small apartment with a small kitchen that has very little storage space, and I often eat pasta. Using a colander means one more thing I have to wash (and store...and put away). I have a couple of hand strainers, but that makes things awkward, especially since I have a condition that makes it even more so. This little guy has made things so much easier! Its small size makes it easy to wash (by hand, for me) and then just toss in a drawer. It's sturdy, even the clips, so I don't feel I have to be gentle with it." —Jonathan Dowell

Read our review of the Fasta Pasta Microwave Cooker (#2 on the list)!

Promising review: "I love pasta but as a single girl it has always been such a hassle with the big pot of boiling water and then the scrubbing just for one person. This little kitchen tool is a dream to use and clean. No more big pots of water!! No more spilled hot water and now more room in my cupboards. Big pots replaced with this one tiny tool. I've given one to all my single friends for the holidays." —AlamedaHardwear

    21. A Potato Express, which is just fancy talk for a microwaveable bag that'll cook your potato *just right.* You won't even have to turn on your oven! Plus it'll help ya' reheat bread, tortillas, and corn on the cob.

    22. And a microwave rice cooker because, um, that thing sitting in your kitchen can REALLY bring about some quick results. It'll steam rice, polenta, and couscous with ease in a mere 15 minutes.,

It's top-rack dishwasher safe and also safe for the fridge and freezer. Just make sure you don't use butter or oil before microwaving because reviewers found that led to burning the rice cooker. Eep!

Promising review: "I've had this for seven months now, and I think it's still my favorite tool in my entire kitchen. I eat a ton of rice, and I love how easy this is to use and how easy it is to clean. I put in one cup of white rice and two cups of water, and microwave it for 15 minutes. It comes out consistent every time. In the past, I've cooked rice on the stove and used an electronic rice cooker, and I prefer this microwave one to both. I hated how messy cooking on the stove is, and my electric cooker got mold down inside the part that you can't wash. With this, there's no mess, and there's nowhere you can't clean or that can trap mold or bacteria. I can throw every part of it into the dishwasher after I'm done with it." —C. Stone

Get it from Amazon for $15.19.

    23. And a manual food chopper to help ya' quickly bust up some stuff like ground meat that's still a bit frozen because SOMEONE forgot to put out to unthaw earlier. Plus other yummy things like mashed potatoes and hard-boiled eggs.

It's safe to use with nonstick cookware and is dishwasher safe.

Promising review: "To tell the truth, I'm not really sure why I bought this. It seemed kinda silly at the time because I have a spatula (turner) that works fine to break up ground meat while cooking. This, however, is much better than fine — it's excellent! It makes quick work of breaking up meat — as big or small as you want — and then cleans up beautifully in the dishwasher. No scratches on my nonstick cookware, either!" —P. Draper

Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in three colors).
