This film isn't strictly a Ghibli film, but it is a Miyazaki film, and a great one at that! It follows Lupin as he successfully robs a bank only to discover that the money is all counterfeit. This leads him to the country of Cagliostro, the rumored source of the bills. It's a very fun film with a lot of depth and great characters.

"The Castle of Cagliostro"

This film is very different from all the other Ghibli films both in art style and in format. It is a series of vignettes from this typical family of five. It is constantly hilarious, but also contains some really genuine and heartfelt moments. I think you have to be prepared for the absurd, but also just linger on the joy it brings

Poppy Hill is a quiet love story between two teenagers. There are some very sad moments in Umi's relationship with her dad, as well as some hilarious scenes with classmates. It's just generally lovely and cozy.

Earthsea gets criticized for being a bit confusing and dark, but I would argue that it is actually wonderful and contains many outstanding moments. Arren is on the run because of a crime he committed, and ends up traveling with Sparrowhawk, a mage, who leads him to Hort Town. There is something wrong with the balance in the world, and darkness is spreading. This film is definitely dark and a bit creepy at times, but I would argue this is in a good way.

"Tales From Earthsea"

Kaguya is of a very different art style than normal Ghibli, but it is just so beautiful. The story follows the eponymous hero as she is found in a bamboo stem by her parents and then grows up. She is courted by rich men and finds herself struggling with her position in society. It's really just gorgeous and, at times, heartbreaking.

"The Tale of Princess Kaguya"

Nausicäa is a film about a princess who fearlessly protects her people. The story is set years after a war destroyed much of the world and created a toxic forest, which Nausicäa enters to explore and collect plant cuttings. This is just a visually striking film, and a little darker than a lot of other Ghibli films
