Leslie explained that it wasn't the hateful language itself that she found hurtful, but rather the huge volume of abuse she was receiving:

"What's scary about the whole thing is that – the insults didn't hurt me, unfortunately I'm used to the insults – but what scared me was the injustice of a gang of people jumping against me for such a sick cause.

"It's just like, everyone has an opinion and it all comes at you at one time, and they really believe in what they believe in, and it's so gross and mean and unnecessary."

She pointed out that the injustice of the situation lies in the fact that if she hadn't drawn attention to it, her abusers would still be sending her those messages.

And then she came up with the perfect analogy for the situation:

She also had some things to say to the people accusing her of "messing with freedom of speech".

    Well said, Leslie. 👑💖
