People are unhappy with Kate Winslet after she gave a New York Times interview in which she defended her decision to work with directors Woody Allen and Roman Polanski.
In 1993, Allen was taken to court after his ex-partner, Mia Farrow, accused him of sexually abusing their adopted daughter, Dylan.
Allen's movies have been surrounded by controversy ever since. Most recently, Elle Fanning and Selena Gomez faced backlash after it was revealed they had signed on to star in an upcoming Allen film.
And Winslet is the latest star to defend her decision to work with him. When asked if the allegations against Allen gave her pause, she said she "put it to one side":
Of course one thinks about it. But at the same time, I didn’t know Woody and I don’t know anything about that family. As the actor in the film, you just have to step away and say, I don’t know anything, really, and whether any of it is true or false. Having thought it all through, you put it to one side and just work with the person.
"Woody Allen is an incredible director. So is Roman Polanski," she continued. "I had an extraordinary working experience with both of those men, and that’s the truth."
People online have expressed anger and disappointment with Winslet after the interview was published.

And, although the allegations against him have never been tested in court, many said that there is no excuse for actors supporting and working with Allen.
Actors need to stop working with Woody Allen. It doesn't matter how good his films are, he's a disgusting pig who's done awful things.
