In a post on her Instagram account on Sept. 30, Chrissy informed her followers that the couple had lost their third baby — a boy they had named Jack — following her hospitalisation due to pregnancy complications.

The couple has understandably retreated from public life in the weeks since, but on Wednesday, John made an appearance on the BBMAs stage to perform a heartbreaking song dedicated to Chrissy and their family.

The song, "Never Break", was released earlier this year on John's album Bigger Love, and the lyrics are all about the strength of his relationship with Chrissy.

And on Thursday night, John posted a video of his BBMAs performance on Instagram, dedicating the song to Chrissy with a lengthy message.

"This is for Chrissy," he wrote in the caption. "I love and cherish you and our family so much. We've experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together."

John went on to explain the meaning behind the song, saying: "I have faith that as long as we walk this earth, we will hold each other’s hands through every tear, through every up and down, through every test."

"We promised each other this on our wedding day seven years ago, and every challenge we’ve faced has made that promise more powerful, more resilient," he added. "Our love will remain. We will never break."

He concluded his post with a message of thanks to the people who have supported him and Chrissy and sent them well wishes.

"We feel and appreciate your love and support more than you know," John said.

"I'm sure Chrissy will have much more to say about this when she’s ready," John concluded. "But just know we're grateful and we're sending love to all of you and your families."
