John Boyega Lost The New "Star Wars" Script And Someone Sold It On eBay For $85
"Hey, look, Disney bought it back. They bought it back!"
But all of that almost went very wrong recently, as John revealed during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show on Wednesday.
When asked if he could reveal anything about the upcoming Star Wars movie, John said: "Everyone's got eyes on me because of a recent... situation. So I can't say much."
It turns out the Situation™ was John being responsible for misplacing the The Rise of Skywalker script and it ultimately being sold on eBay for $85.
How could such a thing happen, I hear you ask? Well, let's allow John to explain himself...
It all began when John was moving to a new apartment — after they had wrapped filming for the movie — and forgot that he'd left the script under his bed the day before moving.
"And then, yeah, someone sold it on eBay," John said, before reassuring us all that Disney bought it back immediately. "It was something silly, it was like $85 or something."
"I think they were basing the price on my name being on the pages, not on it being a Star Wars script," he went on. "I don't think the person ever read the pages. They just thought that it was something cool and tried to sell it online to make a quick buck."
Then John explained exactly what happened when he found out the script had been sold, and honestly, my brain has shut down from secondhand stress.
I received a call from my agent, saying, "Mate, I've just received a call from Disney and all the gods of the movie industry that you work for — that your livelihood comes from — saying that you lost the most powerful script in Hollywood right now." Mate. A way to feel your organs in your big toe, I tell you that.
