Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint by two masked men in a Paris hotel room in the early hours of Monday morning, according to her spokesperson.
After the incident was reported, a few people on social media argued that Kim shouldn't have "flaunted" her possessions or posted her exact whereabouts on Snapchat.

Though many people were quick to defend Kim from victim-blaming, some of the most interesting points came from Kim's longtime friend Chrissy Teigen.
Chrissy took the opportunity to draw attention to the double standard faced by celebs, who are expected to be grateful to the same people who are the first to criticise them when anything goes wrong.
Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets
She was also quick to point out that while she's lucky to be able to live the way she does, the whole idea of fame is slightly weird.

Please do not think that I think celebrities are special snowflakes. I just miss empathy, in general, for everyone.
