Maybe it's committing to teaching yourself how to play a musical instrument or actually using that DuoLingo app you downloaded last year — everyone has something they've always wanted to learn. Nothing compares to the warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you make someone's day by giving them a compliment. Looking for ways to compliment someone means you're more likely to focus on the positives in life, and let's face it — we all need to do that more often. Plus, it's completely free!

Give more compliments!

Saying no to others is difficult, especially when you're a people-pleaser, but sometimes we all need to take a little time for ourselves. Having a couple of nights a week to treat yourself to some me time is super important and gives you time to recharge. Maybe you can take yourself to the cinema, or cook yourself a nice dinner.

Take some time for yourself!

There's nothing more satisfying than going out into the world, exploring, experiencing, and learning about new places. And it doesn't have to be a huge event — if free time or money is an issue, even visiting a new town or city for a weekend could be the trip of a lifetime for you. You never know what's around the corner!

Get out and see the world!

There's no shame in admitting it — the vast majority of us could benefit from having a little more organisation in our lives. It could come in the form of something as simple as making to do lists or starting a system in your calendar app. Getting things out of your head and onto a page will not only help you chill out, but you'll also get shit done.

Be more organised!

It's easy to get comfortable in your own company and only spend time with those you're already close to, but it could be time to invite some new people into your life. It doesn't have to be anything drastic — maybe you just say yes to more invitations, or strike up a conversation with someone you've always secretly thought was super cool. You never know where 2019 could take you.
