This Young Fan Dressed Up As Shuri From "Black Panther" Made Ryan Coogler All Kinds Of Emotional

BRB, gotta go wipe away my tears.

This week, on an episode of Epix's Elvis Goes There, host Elvis Mitchell interviewed director Ryan Coogler. They traveled to Oakland, California to explore the backdrops and inspiration for Coogler's films.

While at King's Boxing Gym in Oakland, discussing the importance of the movie Creed, a young fan came up to Ryan to introduce herself. When he saw her, things got ~emotional~.

LOOK AT THIS PURE YOUNG CHILD DRESSED AS SHURI!

LOOK AT HER!!

After the young girl and her family leave, Oakland-based boxer Andre Ward had some touching words for Coogler:

I'm not the only one who was affected by this touching scene:

@nostalgiaonfilm And this is why superhero movies will always be important and this is why REPRESENTATION matters. I love this... #WakandaForever

@nostalgiaonfilm Say it again. Scream it till the people in the back can hear you. It matters!

@nostalgiaonfilm Beautiful moment ♥️ Little black girls seeing themselves as superheros. Ryan seeing the impact of his work. Moments like these show how important representation is and how crucial it is for black people to be the ones to create it.

So, yeah, I hope you enjoyed that little nugget of joy. I know I did.
