The Angels are back, baby!
We have Sabina Wilson (Kristen Stewart), the "skilled wild card" who works hard and plays harder; Jane Kano (Ella Balinska), the brawn of the group, who also used to be in MI6; and and Elena Houghlin (Naomi Scott), the brainy scientist who serves as "the heart of the film." Color me IMPRESSED. Can't wait to see these three kick ass on the big screen!
Banks talked about how she wanted to make a movie about women actually working together as a cohesive unit, and not getting sidetracked by romance/families/all the other hoopla that sometimes comes with women-centered movies. Can I get an amen?
Praying we get an arm reload in this film as well. One can dream.
Instead of Bosley being a specific person, like he was in the films and the TV series, "Bosley" will now be a high-level position held by several people in the new global spy agency. So all those rumors you heard about Elizabeth Banks, Patrick Stewart, and Djimon Hounsou playing Bosley were true!
Instead of over-the-top stunts and farcical-level hoaxes, it's going to be more grounded and realistic. Don't worry, it's still going to be badass, but the stunts will have you saying, "Oh, that's plausible in real life."
His character, Langston, is a friend of Naomi Scott's character, Elena. Maybe he'll assist them on a mission or two and we'll get to see him in some ~action sequences~. HERE'S HOPING!
Banks teased that fans of the OG series — AKA me — will notice similarities in the voice they used and that of the late John Forsythe. My nostalgic heart is singing. I can't wait to see what they do with this!
Banks talked about how it's a super-exciting time for women-driven films, especially in the wake of Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman. These women are gonna be "real," "relatable," and ready for whatever's thrown their way! I bow down to all three of these queens!
