Not too long ago, Netflix blessed us with the ability to stream the entire Twilight saga on the site. Like many others, I rewatched all five films, but this time around, I realized something: Charlie Swan is an absolute angel who deserved way better than he received.
So allow me to list out all the reasons why Charlie Swan is the best character in Twilight:
First off, when Bella up and moved into Charlie's home — since she didn't want to go on the road with Renée and her minor league husband — he did his best to make her comfortable in an uncomfortable situation:
He even gets her a car to get around town and replaced the tires on said car as a precaution:
Like, he even gets Bella's fave dessert — blueberry cobbler — every week:
At the first sign of danger, Charlie gave Bella pepper spray to protect herself:
The precise way Charlie ran up to Sam to lift Bella from his arms after he found her in the woods shattered my soul:
And every time she woke up screaming? He was always there to comfort her back to sleep:
He gives the advice we need, but not the advice we deserve:
Not once, but TWICE did Bella leave Charlie high and dry...and he welcomed her back every time with open arms:
But, even with all the trials and tribulations Charlie went through — including watching Jacob get undressed and turn into a wolf and taking to instant grandfatherhood pretty well — he always was, and will be, there for Bella:
