1. Musicals are so prominent now
So many people around the world love and listen to musicals!
2. They are easy to access
With the beloved musical: Hamilton coming out on Disney+ recently, many people have realized their love for musicals. There are playlists and bootlegs of musicals all over the internet.
3. They are diverse
I almost only know of U.S. musicals, but I know that tons of other countries actively are coming out with musicals. Musicals like Anastasia are set in Russia, even though it is an American produced musical.
4. There is something for everyone!
No matter what you like, you will most likely find a musical meant for you! There are historical fiction musicals like Anastasia and there is modern ones like Be More Chill.
5. The Soundtracks are amazing!
Most musical's soundtracks can be found on music streamers like Spotify and Apple Music. Just like their content, their music is also very diverse! There is rap, pop, classical, show tunes, and so much more!
6. They're a part of pop-culture
Whether you'd like to believe it or not, musicals are very popular. Hamilton is so well-known and know even more well know because of its public release. So many people know the plots and songs of musicals.
7. They are (mostly) well written!
So many different topics are apparent in musicals. Many live performances include foreshadowing and well-developed characters.
8. They are diverse in casting
Even though many musicals are based off of real people, many musical creators are open to gender-bending and other things like that. (Note: Many playwrights and casting directors are prone to racism, bigotry, and misogyny and those problems still remain relevant in the community.)
9. They are relatable
Many musicals have interesting plots and characters that many people relate to. And not only that, but many musical lovers turned their passion into a career. Many playwrights started off just as normal people with a love for musical theatre.
10. They're amazing!
There are so many more reasons why you should listen to musicals!
