Reasons The Addams Family Are The Best Family

If you think about it, and I mean really think about it, most families in tv-series and movies are quite toxic. Both in the family and towards others. But I'm here to tell you that there is at least one family that is totally non-toxic.

That's right. If you didn't get that from the title, I'm talking "The Addams Family"

They may be creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky, but they are secretly a truly healthy family and here are 12 reasons why.

Since I prefer the original tv-series from 1964, that is the Addams Family that I will be focusing on. I could write an entire post why but I won't, so you will just have to be content with it. Also, if you haven't seen this version of The Addams Family; GO WATCH IT NOW, it is so good!

1. They always donate to charities (even if people don't always want them to)

I can't see why people wouldn't want their things. They have such beautiful heirlooms! ;)

2. When they have extra money on hand they tend to give it to people (or bats) in need

They are really a lot nicer than people give them credit for. Literally anyone could ask them for money for anything and Gomez would write them a check as soon as he recalls which bank he put his money in.

3. They let all their relatives live with them whenever they want to

I would not be able to live with my relatives as much as they do, but perhaps that's just me.

4. They always try to help fix everyone's problems

Although, most of the fixing involved somebody getting married to a relative, but still! I'd be happy to let them fix some of my problems (unless they tried to marry me off to some cousin).

5. They accept everybody just the way they are

How could they do anything else when their very own family is as kooky as it is? And I don't mean kooky in a bad way, after all that is part of their charm.

6. Everyone is welcome in their home

I see how it can be a bit terrifying to be greeted by Lurch at the door, but who wouldn't want to be greeted by this?

7. They never judge anybody in beforehand

Which often leads to them letting thieves and other people with bad intentions into their house, which always leads to me reacting this way. But it most of the time (always) works itself out without them even noticing it.

8. They don't go around shooting people in the back

A fair fight or nothing. Although they might use voodoo, and Morticia is quite good at fencing so I probably wouldn't cross them anyway.

9. They clearly love each other.

Morticia and Gomez's relationship is the sole reason I still believe in soulmates. I mean, who can watch this and not believe that soulmates exist?

I mean just look at the way they look at each other.

10. Morticia and Gomez are great role models for their kids (and to Uncle Fester tbh)

11. They only want each other to be happy

The amount of gifs and pictures I have saved of them on Pinterest is concerning. But you have to admit that they have a lot of precious moments.

12. They have taught us all that whenever you have a problem, just start dancing!

Fencing also works. The important part is that it takes your mind of your troubles and that it's fun.

If you aren't convinced, I don't know what to say... I sure am. Also, can they please adopt me? If I find the Gomez to my Morticia that's fine too.
