Although one might think the Maldives is all about white sandy beaches, jaw-dropping views and luxurious accommodation, this magnificent chain of islands scattered over the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean is home to arguably the world’s best collection of marine species. The Stunning Coral Reefs

Evolved over millions of years, the reef beds form the natural foundation on which this chain of islands exists on. Coral reefs surround each one of the 1,200 islands providing individual coral beds around each island and are home to a vast array of marine species. Several resorts in the Maldives offer incredible sites for diving and snorkelling fanatics, such as Adaaran Prestige Vadoo which has its own house reef.

Whale and Dolphins

Gentle and friendly dolphins are often seen swimming alongside speedboats. If lucky, you can watch the mischievous somersaulting bottlenose and spinner dolphins. Whale watching is usually arranged by many resorts in the Maldives and you have the chance to see gigantic blue and sperm whales.
